Things like housing , good crafting , etc etc. I believe they are our last hope of making this game less of a Wow clone than you know they plan on putting out. Sure they have some original ideas , but come on ... they don't plan on deviating too far from Wow. They plan on making money ... and lots of it. And they should , its a Star Wars IP.

If you're talking about visuals I agree with you, if you talk about design and game mechanics I personaly don't like it.

Too bad, that nothing will get through, these are the same ignorant fools, the mamangent who screwed up SWG,  then left SOE in 2005 to from BioWare Austin to create NGE 2.0.  (and that's a fact not simply my opinion)

Grander+Scheme=Very poor choice of words to use in a MMORPG forum.

When the game comes out and if you are a SWG vet and or a current player, and decides to try it out and it's not for you, then uninstall. It is that simple.

Your right if you don't like the game just uninstall it...the problem is...for me,there will be nothing to uninstall. I refuse to let another one of(Bioware) EA's bootlicking prostitutes(Mythic) sell me a "shit sandwich"(WAR) before the gaming community at large has taken a bite of it first and swallowed.(SW:TOR) No sir,EA is not deserving, and I will not grease the palms of yet another one of it's whores,so they can run back to their pimp with it and proclaim "Look sugar daddy another sucker". I have played the role of the "John" one to many times and with the exception of EvE,UO and WoW I have been busted for that role far more than I should admit. The money changed hands but I got busted before the motel.

The game won't be for everyone. As much as i loved old SWG, i am looking at TOR with refreshing eyes. The only people i see bitching and moaning about TOR is SWG vets that know, when TOR is released, it will pull even more people from SWG, and i would asume that is something they don't want to see.

Huh?...what? Please don't assume here...the vast majority of real SWG(Pre-CU) vets ran screaming away from that Frankenstein monster of a game a long, long time ago. If SW:TOR were to end it,most of us would probably consider it a mercy killing.

If SWG goes under, then they will lose all the things that they have clung on to for all these yrs. This is the reasoning i believe they cry for TOR to be more of a SWG2. So if that happens, they can make an easy switch  into a new game that would be almost what they have now, but with a full and healthy community.

We lost what we are clinging to(some of us anyway)over THREE years ago. That game died to us when SOE:Smedley Online Entertainment proclaimed "It's alive...ALIVE!"

To the op. Don't worry about SWG fans. In the bigger picture, there are millions of SW fans that never even played SWG, but with the right push and advertising will try out TOR.

As will I....IF it proves itself.

EA burned me once shame on them. EA burning me twice shame on me.

Musicmann please don't take any offfense at my attitude..I don't usually have a "Rockstar" this early in the morning.

then dude, what are ya doing here? seriously. quit posting and don't buy the freakin thing. why do you even care about it?

as for everyone else. your an utter idiot if you think Bioware is gonna listen to any fanbois of anything, swg, wow, whatever in making there game.

bioware is only listening to 2 other people. LA representative in there studio, the EA representative in there studio, and themselves. thats it.

if bioware wants to make an swg2, so be it, im sure it'll be great. if they wanna make a star wars wow clone, so be it, i don't be playing but im sure others will.

people here asking for things, and telling them to shut up cause you don't want it, then don't come here, don't read it. cause no one wants to hear yout stupid wants and don't wants if you don't wanna listen to others. regardless, bioware isn't listening to any of you nor myself from the get go and likely never will.

i am not worried, bioware has always had enough of a backbone to tell people to F off if the game is being disrupted not to their liking. They usually stick with their guns pretty well.

As far as I can tell we aren't ruining it, infact we wouldn't know how to ruin it or make it great. The devs do, and they will tell us what we want them to make it like, why would they consult us before making another Star Wars games base on putting us into an action role where we are Han Solo not a moisture farmer, it's not like one that already did that failed or anything psh.

Until Star Wars game makers realize we don't want to play a hero, Star Wars is to big and too deep for us to only want that, we want to live Star wars in all aspects of life, hero, farmer, waiter, etc; they will continue to miss with the Star Wars games.

I'm just begging that bioware holds true to their name and makes this game as good as the KOTOR games.  I miss playing the pre-cu SWG yes, but I want something new.  And not just new, but different, and bioware as always is looking to put their foot down and show us just that.  Myself being a SWG 'former fanboi' would to to express that those who are playing SWG now, good for you, I play it still too, but leave TOR alone and let it release it's open beta at least before judging it and 'flaming' this looking to be good game.

LOL .. i would'nt worry.

There are so few of SWG fans that they won't matter in the market place. TOR is NOT shooting for a niche audience.

I don't know if they are successful or not but i am sure it will have little to do with hardcore people on this site. Just look at WOW. Does it care about some haters in a tiny site? Not really.

The fans of galaxies were the ones who jaded the game, they were the ones who brought upon the CU and then the NGE and the're the ones trying to sabotage TOR before its even released.

However, I digress, This is not a flame post, this is a post Begging the community to not judge this game before its released. No, this isn't a sandbox world, No, its certainly not a SWG2, but what it is, is an mmorpg built to entertain the inner starwars fan in all of us, and if its treated the same way SWG was when it was released, with critcism from day one, not taking even 5 minutes to marvel at and praise the developers for what they've accomplished, they'll tune us out, just as the devs at SOE had with the swg playerbase.

Basically Ignore them it is no secret that Bioware hates these bitter clowns anyway.  I loved what Dave Parker from Bioware  told one at Gen Con.

We are makign a Star Wars game for Star Wars fans not some sort of compensation to those who are still crying because they think SOE broke their Wookie.

He got a massive round of Applause for that. They don't matter TOR is going to be huge.

There's SWG fans?

Being a fan of any SOE game is a stupid concept for stupid people.  Let them rant and throw tantrums, who cares about them.

People who say that SWG was an amazing game, a work of art(srsly?), and what not just totally confuse me. I played the game from the day of release until '06 and it was always buggy and things were always broken.

Don't get me wrong, I loved SWG because of the community. And it WAS the community that made it great, not the amazing clout of the developers. It's not as if they had divine inspiration when they made it. It was very much broken and buggy. Classes [professions, guiz] were horribly out of balance, and nearly each time they tried to repair that they ended up making one stronger than all of the others. So everyone and their mom went with the flavor of the month. I mean Commando had weapons that didn't even function correctly. I thought BHs had a raw deal but commando was like the red headed stepchild of SWG.

But on the subject at hand, I want TOR to be nothing like SWG except for a few of the more minor features. Housing, cantinas as a hangout spot, pets, vehicles, etc. All of that adds heaps to the community of a game. It gives them a way to feel attached to the game.

The Starwars Community should be happy we are getting an alternative to SWG. We all know the fate of SWG, and how it has been mismanaged. TOR is giving us a second chanse.

How in the world is it the players fault? Take a history lesson on how SOE did this game, they never once listened to the players when wanting feedback, they're the ones that came up with the CU and publish 9 revamps and pushed the NGE under our noses without any advanced warmings. If you look hard enough, 9 out of 10 SWG players wanted the game to be fixed, not revamped which put the devs back to square 1 each time with a new batch of bugs and incompleted codes- easy fixes like lowering composite armor's resists and lowering doctor buff strength, things that could have easily been adjusted without an entirely revamped game that alienated the majority of us.

Thus why I plan to start  a movement that places the blame for the crapfest that SWG has become on Global Warming. Why not? It seems to get the blame for every hurricane, sunami, volcano eruption, and earthquake now.. we can expand it to other disasters not those just natural... like the economy and Rosie O'Donald.

Thats really cool, hadn't seen that before. I tell you what, this game would be 100x better if I got to play with all the old Kauri natives again!

Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike
Loved: Star Wars Galaxies
Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

I was going to read what you wrote but once you siad it was the players fault you lost all credibility. sorry
