whats up with all the lock downs and deleted threads over nothing. Freedom of speech is surly lacking at the DF forums.

Do you really have to ask?

This is a discussion forum, how many of those post have been "discussion" related?

And you only have freedom of speech if you take the responsibilitys that come with it.

A lot of them are posting links to the leaked beta videos. A simple google or youtube search will find them, so its not really needed to actually give a link.

uumm the last one that got locked !! had no beta leak in it but still got locked.

I guess we should just lock them all except the white border and Tasos.

We can't even have a debate without getting a lock now days.

Hmmmm,

somehow I've never figured out how "freedom of speech" is expected on a privately owned forum.

You don't get freedom of speech on someone else's forums. You get rules that must be obeyed.

Rules which few give a second glance to. No, I'd prefer the freedom of speech theory. That is to say, if you don't like what I'm saying, disagree with me. If  one of us gets banned, its that person's responsibility to make another account and finish the discussion.

Alas, no one can fight the lock stick, however. It destroys worlds.

Sometimes I have noticed them locking threads so they can filter through them to find the gems that need to be removed, reopening the thread when they are done.

Sometimes you need to petition to have the post opened though...

One of those rules is if you get banned you're not allowed to make another account to post on. Odds are if you're banned you have nothing to contribute worth reading anyway.

If there gonna be quick with the "lock gun" they should be just as quick with the "Hoover" and re-open it,. Nothing worse than getting into a good debate then seeing the ban hammer because of someone posting stuff he should not.

Let us explain this:

I live in Sweden. We have a law thats named "Every mans Right!" It means that everyone can walk anywere in Sweden, even on someone slses property without asking. You can pick berries and fruits everywere. I think you almost can walk into someones house.

But you cant destroy are disturb anything! As soon you do that...the right to be everywere is gone.

Same with "freedom of speach" i guess.

Yeah. All of the ban bunnies -really- pay attention to that one. Fifteen minutes later they open another "WHY DO SOE SUX SO BAD? I TOOK MY CAR N HIT DEVS LUL U SUK SOE!" thread. Fail.

So show me where the reason for this thread is locked, I must be blind because I don't see it. Granted I could be wrong but I see no beta leak or hard flaming going on in it.

Here in America, going on someone else' property gives you the right to be shot. I like that much better.

Ideally that's what would happen but in most cases there simply isn't time or it's not worth the effort.  Volunteer moderators means you only get as much time as they are willing to put in. Darkfall forum means 99% of the posts are such blatant crap it's impossible to weed through it all and find the good posts.

Yes banned people make new accounts. Then it requires they be ferreted out and verified before they can be rebanned. Which also takes time especially if you don't wish to ban the wrong people.

You'd have to ask the moderator who locked it to be sure.

Edit: that one's obvious they're discussing things that happened in the beta under he NDA which is a violation of the rules.

You gave up your freedom of speach when you accepted the terms and use of these forums. The acceptable use applies here and everybody is bound by the end user licence agreement of these forums.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
