I thought it might be a neat idea for Turbine to offer accounts for Monsterplay only, for those people that might like to play it regularly without the rest of the game. Turbine could allow accounts for about $5.99 a month for people who only want to play as Creep, and market this to all the multiplayer-games sites. It would be brilliant to release it on Valve's Steam client, for example (company name was made for this partnership!) This would really keep the Moors alive, and make end-game constantly exciting for players. There could even be an optional "freep-generator" for creeps to play as/against (with lesser rewards than PC freeps) when they want to (bring back those Fell Scrying Pools creepside).

Integrating it with the full LotRO PvE game could give you two superior products for the development of one! This would give Turbine an extra revenue stream to improve PvMP without cutting into LotRO's PvE resource time and budget, adding new PvMP zones and instances etc.. Not to mention Monsterplay could be a fantastic advertisement tool for players who might want to check out the full game.

Really interesting idea really, i'm sure some people here would dissagree though. :)

I think as long as they made more PVP zones and it didnt effect the PVE side of the game why not. I can see it beng frustrating when kids shout nerf and tehn it effect the guys who just like PVE.

Would be nice to see more PVP areas, this is what is lacking in the game, even though i dont PVP.

Play for a couple of hours, hit level 10 and then you have your MP account.

I think this is he best LotrO suggestion I have read, very good idea! Can you post it on offical forums to see what people think?

If WoW = The Beatles
and WAR = Led Zeppelin
Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

I originally did post this in the official suggestions forum, and then linked to it in another thread in the official Monsterplay forum. Both threads got a few positive replies, but didn't seem to generate much interest overall.

I would most certainly get down with this. The problem is that carebears would whine about it.

WAAAAH! THEY GET TO PLAY LEVEL 50s WHILE WE HAVE TO LEVEL. WAAAAAH!

Yeah, well... You get to carebear your way to leet equipment. I'd call that balance. Oh me oh my, I'd miss out on raids on super mobs! OH GOD I'D MISS RAIDS! GUILD INVITES! OH NOES111!1

MP is where its at.

Brilliant suggestion really, someone should post it on the official forums, I'm in EU so can't post on NA forum unfortunately.

Now, as a matter of fact I read an interview awhile ago with Turbine CEO talking about how he wanted to bring in more people to the game, especially the ones who don't have very much time on their hands and how because of this they shouldn't have to pay the same high subscription fee as people who are fully commited to the game and playing the game on a regular to 24/7 basis.

And this would be one creative way to do it, get them to play and enjoy a section of the game and also make some nice money from them (say 5,99 per month or so), all without resorting to the dreaded cash-shops and real-money trading "solution" that was also mentioned in the interview or a previous one, all things on the CEO's mind which will hopefully never find it's way into this game :)

Why does it hurt when I pee?

7/17/09 4:06:31 PM#10

This is a great idea. Back when I played LoTR:O, the majority of my time was spent in PvMP (as a Creep). It was great fun, but since PvMP is really only playable during peak hours it isn't worth a full sub price.
