They gave me a warning for posting this in a new thread.  They also deleted my post.  I'm not sure what the big deal is, but apparently they want your request to get lost in the huge "I'd like a Buddy Key" thread stickied at the top of the forum.  Good luck on the buddy pass!  I find it interesting that all these folks who would like to try the game before spending the money are being ignored by the Funcom folks.  They may not have a free trial right now, but they obviously have a buddy key system and could help these people who might actually become their customers.

I would just like to state again my interest in trying this game with a buddy key.  I've never tried it but I hear so many different things about it I would like to see how I like it myself before spending the money.

Basicly this post screams to me what I have been personally wondering for quite some time.

Why no free trial ? 

Most  people would not mind trying but they do not want to buy the game to do it.

Anyone got a buddy key to give me ? Already got game  installed and updated..

I suppose I will add to the collection of many hopes...I would to like a buddy key if possible. I once tried AoC when it first launched and lets say my experience was not so great. (especially considering my system spec then)

I have heard many mixed reviews of this game and I would like to finally try it, however I don't want to have to pay the full price (yet) or subscribe (yet). This game could be the one I have some real fun with and if anyone would like to help me out I would be beyond grateful. Thank you.

I am out of keys, but I have put a call out on the official forums for more keys. Hopefully we can get enough people to donate their keys to help everyone out. I do think a free trial will be happening soon though. Funcom just wants to get past the merges and the next PVP update which includes PVP resources and 2 new zones, but expect it soon (best guess).

Age of Conan is not perfect, but it is fun. The combat style, and immersive graphics and music sure make it one hell of a game to play.

As a side note...check out Ebay...there are full games on there (NEW) for under $10. Even collectors editions for under $20.

Not a bad way to go since you get the discs (no days worth of downloading wait) and you get 30 days of "trial" rather than just 7 for the buddy key. Keep in mind with the buddy key, there is a $2.99 fee for download access, although they give you an extra 3 days if you do have to pay. If you have a friend who can loan you the disks, then you wont have to pay the $2.99.

Anyways, Ebay is a great option, and there are hundreds of copies on there so I would go that route for a minimal cost and less hassle.
