I, in turn with other posters, will be returning to SWG. Even though I, (like many vets), have tasted the sting of betrayal, I have come to terms with it and wish to put aside the grudges and "come back home". I have had experience on Bria and Valcyn, and have a history of being a soloist Krayt hunter and pvp advocate in both Pre and Post-CU. Old-school, I have experience with CH, Fencer, Pistoleer, Rifleman, Commando, TK, Tailor, Carbineer, Ranger, BE, and BH. I have limited NGE experience and plan to "reroll" a new character in order to learn the ropes from the ground up; no class has been chosen as of yet for my return. I have no problem with roll-playing, so long as it remains relativley cheese-free. As far as play-style and personality are concerned, I tend to be very independent, (with exception to PvP), and prefer to work for what I earn, in my own time. Even concerning guild relations, I have no problem with paying for services that some believe should be "on the house". Handouts just seem to take the fun and challenge away, and "favors" usually leave someone with the short stick. The only exception to this, (IMO), is knowledge... I can teach, but not babysit. Faction-wise, I have always been Imperial, but then again, those were choices made in Rebel-dominated times. I prefer to be with the underdogs if the factions are uneven, but otherwise, I care little. It might also suffice to say, that I feel that faction-guilds are the most stable, as my history with neutral or cross-faction guilds is poor, to say the least. *It takes A LOT to get me to betray a faction. I am not a Faction-Jumper* So, if anyone has any suggestions or would like to "adopt" someone who views a guild as a social link instead of a crutch, please post. I have vent, TS, and am more than willing to become a part of a player city or the likes. Thank you for reading. P.S.: I am aware that Sony Station can be irritable, and that the SWG is not "as it was, or should be", but after going through WoW, AoC, EQ2, and WAR, I just want to return to my first MMO and perhaps settle down for a while. |

Well if your looking for a full server and a guild here goes I'm in ACE on Starsider and our guild is in fact active and we come in all shapes and sizes. We dont roleplay per say but we do have roleplayers in the guild. We also have some kids so if you hate kids you probably would not like us. We dont take ourselves, the game or life particularly seriously and have been known to bounty hunt each other for sport so if you get offended by being same faction hunted by someone in your own guild then (that is another biggy apparently) then this excitement might also not be for you lol. We have only one rule which is to respect others for their differences. .. And yes many of us are vets who have returned or possibly never left in some cases and we have the 'newage" players who will not know what your talking about when you talk about pre anythings. So we come in all shapes and sizes but anyone is welcome if they like lots of people ^^ You can contact Girpy the leader or myself Dlomiawek if you want in. I play most evenings after about 9 pm. and have been known to login in afternoons on days off for long or short periods. There is a player city on talus and one on Dantoine that is run by ace plus some of us are busy trying to make a couple more cause we can fill more then two cities.

I tried going back but it didnt work out.
Its like going back to a girl friend that cheated on you. It will never be the same or as good and you will always have that element of distrust.

MMO sandbox games are as exciting as watching paint dry. |

If that current post in the Bioware forum about TOR's gameplay turns out to be true, I have a feeling there will be a number more of these "vet" returning posts. The hope of a SWG2 has pretty much been snuffed, and all that is needed now is official confirmation. If it holds up to be true, SWG will be the only SW MMO that holds the ability to do tradeskills/explore open area/etc. To the OP...I hope you enjoy your time back. It has always been rough on me when I go back to EQ...I hope you have an easier time getting re-acclimated to it. Asking Devs to make AAA sandbox titles is like trying to get fine dining on a McDonalds dollar menu budget. |

I appreciate the quick and polite responses that you all have left, and do intend to make the most of this. I have no expectations of NGE being like the vanilla experience, but then again, no other MMO has managed to satisfy me. It will take some learning, (again), but I doubt that'll be a problem. Continued posts are welcome. |

I wouldnt recommend my guild at the moment as there has been a bad split between the pve and pvp players. But as I have played with these guys for 3 years Im gonna stick with em. Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time. If the Powerball lottery was like Lotro, nobody would win for 2 years, and then everyone in Nebraska would win on the same day. AMD 4800 2.4ghz-3GB RAM 533mhz-EVGA 9500GT 512mb-320gb HD |

I can't bring myself to pay SOE any more money. Not after all the BS they pulled. They are just using the money to develop the other crap games they have coming out on PS3, not on future development of SWG. And scamming the few remaining SOE customers with the TCG and RMT in other games. Bah. Smed can stuff it. I gave away my pre-cu crafting alt to several friends and can access that acct anytime I get the "itch" but each time I pop in or take a vet trial it just makes me sad. The SWG that was actually good is long gone, along with the people that made it so.

I hate the trading card game idea and cash shops in general too, but only they can only scam the people that fall for it. I plan on not paying extra for virtual items. The SWG that was actually good is long gone, along with the people that made it so. Agreed. All I can do is cling to the shreds of the game that was once good... But even as bad as it is, it still has elements of its former splendor

To my knowledge they have yet to produce a single PS game. As for SWG to the OP, have fun. Space will look familiar, the rest will be changed within 6 months of your resub. Played (more than a month): SWG, Second Life, Tabula Rasa, Lineage 2, Everquest 2, EvE, MxO, Ryzom. Tried: WoW, Shadowbane, Anarchy Online, Everquest, WWII Online, Planetside Beta: Lotro, Tabula Rasa, WAR. |

Smed and the SOE shill machine have already stated that The Agency and DC Universe are going to put out on PS3, and Smed answers to the division that produces PS3 games. And that is where all SOE revenue is going now: to fund the development of The Agency, DC Universe and the other PS3 titles. Why? Because those have a better shot at making money than anything SOE has at the moment.
