Hiya.

I'm just installing the LOTRO trial and i also have an unopened pre-expansion box and i was just wondering if i would have access to the recent expansion content on either or on both?

I read that people just buying into the game only have to pay one price for both the original game and the expansion content - but what happens if you bought into the game pre-expansion but didn't activate it?

I'm more interested in the new classes - will i be able to play as them?

The trial does NOT give you access to the expansion (including the new classes), and the Shadows of Angmar retail box will NOT give you access to the expansion (including new classes) as well.

You have to buy the MoM expansion box that includes Shadows, and only then will you have access to the new classes, and you won't be able to touch the new expansion areas until your around lvl 50!
