The difference is Blizzard doesn't  play around, they just deliver the games. Which can't be said of a group of nerds that is small talking about their shitty eternally in production game since Bush still had a lot of popularity

Really?  Blizzard's Starcraft II was delayed in to 2008 and then in to Fall 2009.  I was in Paris when they unveiled Diablo III too - think that'll be delayed too?  Burning Crusade was also delayed.  I'm not complaining but it's perfectly normal for game companies to have setbacks, or indeed most software companies.  It's the nature of the beast.

the post was to prove that the game WAS actually in development for 8+ years, which apparantly it was. Though, you have to realize, that for what the game was aiming for in 03, the game was basically done. At that point they decided to broaden the scope of the game to get the DF they have today (i think back in 03, many promised features were said to be unworkable, like blocking, and everyone complained and thus they decided to develop their homemade engine further)

And, again, there's no coorelation b/w long dev times and failures, its actually the opposite.

I was making a subtle joke about the sujectiveness about the term "awesome" by the OP. I am not a rabid hater of this game. I dont think a hardcore pvp game will attract a lot of people, and I think a game of this nature will become very closed after a short while. add to that, my personal gut-feeling that this game will fail to be other than a amateur-garage MMO -much like Dark and Light.

GREEN IS ME. And they have gameplay movies... soooo... And no, i honestly am not familiar with game development, are you? I don't buy the "experience, w r small company" BS, its not an excuse for either way. If the game sucks, they can't use the "we r new!1!" excuse and you can't use it to "prove" that the game will fail. There have been many games that had independent inexperienced dev teams, and the games ended up rocking the gaming scene (AC, Half-life, etc.). When other mmo companies delay, even wierd ones, no one goes around screaming "vaporz!"

I know I'm a bit late in getting this in, but this is the first time I've seen the thread. Personally, IF and only IF the game releases as planned (and lives up to Tasos' proclaimations) then I will apologize. People have been known to be wrong before, and I am no exception. However, so far everything I have even jokingly said about the game/ company has come true in the last month or so. This does not bode well for the game's future. I can forgive the game if it comes to that, but I think almost everyone would have to agree, that Adventurine needs to get some people speaking for it, that actually knows how to do it without blatant lies.

In short, I don't expect to have to apologize any time soon.

I will apologize, on the other hand i will never touch Darkfall.

And i hope those hardcore nerd fans, that started massive flames on the forum vanish into thin air.

actually, why does it matter if you apologize or not, you will be playing the game if its good and won't if its the other way around. Your apology, or anyone's, doesn't matter. What matters is if you play the game or not.

Who will apologize for the Darkfall post floods on the forums and is awesome?

I have been looking forward to DFO just as I have with AoC and WAR and posted both positive and negative things about it. I have nothing to say sorry about but if the game is great and launches smoothly with all the promised features I will be more than willing to make a hooray post here. On the flip side if they pull an AoC and we find out from other players that X is turned off just a day or two before launch I am going to remain pissy with Avent and their communication. My main issue with them isn't the game, but the people running it and their lack of communcation to their potential customers. They did multiple interviews just about a week or two weeks before the most recent delay of the game so they had to have known by then they weren't going to hit thier mark, yet they kept quiet. They have also burned the public many times in the past with obvious lies. Things like saying years ago the game was ready for Beta, the game could launch and be feature complete, and so on. We find out now through leaks that not everything is in the game as they say and the game obviously isn't ready to release despite what they have said in the past based off the fact the game hasn't even been stress tested yet.

At least with Warhammer Mythic told us that planned release dates were just projections, where as with Aventurine they flat out said they would not give an exact release date unless they knew they were going to hit it. Then we find out that is also a lie. You can only be strung along so much before you just start to think this game is going to turn out bad. Not just bad but horrible. How many MMORPGs have actually launched all the great anyways? It could be good, it could be horrible, it could be alright, but I highly, most highly doubt, that this game will be "awesome" at launch. These games are always a work in progress.

Also, if you are just 21 and you have played all these mmorpgs all that means is that you have played many games for not so long periods of time. I mean;

"MUDS, then came Ultima online. I've been around the block plenty when it came to MMOs. I've been disappointed a lot (Shadowbane, FFXI, AoC, and WoW), but I've also had my share of great games (Ultima Online, Lineage II, EQ, EVE)."

That is 8 MMORPGs you list as well as "MUDS". How long could you have possible played these games for unless your parents have been paying for these games for you since you were like 9 years old, which I find hard to believe. Sounds more or less you were just throwing names out there to give yourself some credibility and look "experienced". Just saying.

If darkfall turns out to be a sucess I will publicly apologize here and put a sig mocking me myself.

Anyway let's sit by and wait the next epic fail of MMORPG world for the lulz.

I doubt there will be many apologies.  Most trolls and fanbois alike will be playing DF.  The haters will mostly just stop posting here while a select few will continue to tell us how bad DF is.  They will make sure it has a crappy release whether it does or not.  Any little bug will be turned into a huge game breaking "Look I was right"  We have seen this already, they claim to be right on things they said was vaporware 6 months before.  They constantly change their tune, why would they stop after release?  The few stalwarts won't they will just run out of people to give them attention because everyone that cares will be playing DF.  So eventually the die hard haters will find another game to hate.  It will be kind of wierd, this has been the nature of the forum here for so long, not that I will ever come back.

Some people just won't be able to let it go.  There life for a few years now has been nothing but hating DF.  I hope you guys get help.  Really, don't take that as an insult.  Step back and think if this is really how you want to be spending your life.  Arguing over nothing?  I certainly will be looking forward to many years of fun in DF. We have plenty of information about the game: over 600 screenshots, 9 official game videos, and approximately 280 pages of developer journals, articles and Q&A transcripts are available.  Then if you include leaks, there is pretty much as much info as any unreleased game.  I would expect a lot more info before pre-orders, official or leak.  I don't know why people keep claiming there is no info, maybe they can't read or something.

I've been skeptical of this game since I first learned about it.  I will not apologize for anything I've said, as it is what I was feeling at the time I said it.  Noone should apologize for what someone is feeling.  If you think the game will be great, you have every right to.  If you think the game won't ever lauch, you have every right to.  No apologies needed.
