Extrapolating means to have informatino about the possabiltiy of something without any actual proof of it being the case. Call it a theory if you wish... a trend... educated guess. We may both be doing it, but that does not change the fact that it is an extrapolation of information.

I'd rather not be labelled a fanboi or hater but if i was Aventurine i would be using one of the already well-established CC pay systems which other games are using.

I think it would be best if they just wiped there entire forum board clean and started  fresh.  People on that board only judge others by when they joined the forum..... God forbid you are an 08er or an 09er, I never even heard that term before I read their forums.  Just the fact they use words 07er, 08er and 09er gives me a bad taste about the game.  I can't imagine all the crap that will be said in the chat box when / if the game comes out.

in 2001 forum starts so many have waited 8 years then in 08 many join becouse of beta annoucement around 250k new users they keep asking to make Darkfall more wowish and ask stupid questions in advance discussion while you have newbee section.

It is this attitude of entitlement and elitism that is the reason the sign up date should be removed.   People who sign up today have every right to the forums and game as the people who signed up in 01.  Just the same, the number of posts should not matter either. 

Qualtiy and mature posts are what matter.  Unfortuantely, the forums don't breed that because even the Mods act in an immature, unprofessional manner.

Couple all that with how the Devs have been misleading and lying about the progress of Darkfall and you get all this negative hype to go with the positive (from the potential of the game).  I feel Aventurine is getting what they deserve.

To me, some people are so blinded by the potential of the game that they are allowing and even defending the unprofessional behavior of Aventurine.

I don't like the tendency of certain forumfallers attaching so much significance to join dates but you are wrong to think the average person who joined the forums recently and posted in the advanced discussion section were offering quality posts.

They would ask stupid questions that would be answered in the FAQs posted in the Newbie forum.

Others were simply obnoxious when the questioned the integrity of the company making demands and not requests for information.

Before November 08 the number of people who went to the forums to harass the community couldn't be counted beyond one hand. After November I could easily see the number of flame baits escalate.

Speaking as someone who has actively tried to refocus the forumfall community from being less hostile to new people and has always viewed the core community as a liability I find the self importance, ignorance and obnoxious attitudes of the majority of late joiners who actively post in Advanced discussion even more intolerable.

It's the fault of the mods and admins that they allowed the core community to devolve into a hostile pack. But when I joined I didn't adopt the general hostility of the group that existed. That just tells me the rotten new people were already spoiled and rotten before the joined forumfall.

I can say for sure if anyone new forumfallers are getting into beta it is going to be the people who don't post at all (hence having no track record to hold them accountable for) or who post in a positive fashion.

I never stated nor do I think that every new person is posting with quality. My point is to not stereotype people based on their join date or number of posts. Everyone should be judged individually.

That's not accurate.  There has always been a good percentage of flamers/trolls/spammers/haters/fanbois.

I would rather pay Tasos 100 bucks a month to piss in my mouth, than play any of the other games on the market. There are no other games that deliver anything worth playing "mmo-wise" and single player games are not doing much better, for once technology has surpassed the abilities of game companies to produce serious quality game.

I think its time the designers think outside the box, introduce a game that requires a manual, a scratch pad and a fkin brain.

My son plays WoW with his buddies. I have jumped in there every once in a while, but almost always log right back out thinking what a mistake that was. Anyways, I was totally shocked at the most recent version where they give you so much info on your maps that it can't be any fun to play. I don't know what all of it was, didn't spend the time to check it out, but I half expect that someday soon, you'll just click on an icon on your mini-map and your character will go there, kill it, loot it, and come back. You can go get a soda pop and send a few text messages on your cell.

I wait for the game where I keep notes, review things to figure out what I'm missing, think about what things mean, decipher cryptic codes, look for clues that I don't know where they are, fight using my wiles as much as my characters numbers, and end the evening carousing with my companions just because it's fun.

I don't know if Darkfall is all that. But it's about half way around the world closer than anything out there for a fantasy based game.
