Seriously, it is a failed argument any way you slice it. Tasos could end all these posts TODAY... he simply needs to drop the NDA. Everyone would be so consumed about getting accurate information about the game most of these critical threads would slow to a trickle. Aventurine does not owe anyone anything just like the rest of us owe no loyalty to Aventurine. If you don't like the pissing and moaning about the game simply don't read the posts.

You assume I do not like the pissing and moaning. I actually find the blind faith hilarious. It is like watching a train wreck in slow motion. People on here that think Aventurine is the second coming will most likely drop the game after a month. Delusions of grandeur often lead to spectacular meltdowns once reality sets in.

I have no problems with people being critical or challenging me. It is the people acting like some great injustice is being committed by any hint of criticism that tend to look like carebears.

The problem is he considers anyone who disagrees with him as someone with "blind faith".

Nope, which is why I think it is hillarious when I am called a fanboi.  I don't even think this game will turn out that great.  However, reading the ridiculous comments by so many on this board is about like reading the ridiculosu comments by the real fanbois on darkfall onlines board. 

People here come up with anything and everything to bash aventurine/darkfall just as over there they come up with anything and everything to priase them.

I have never had a problem with the game itself. IF it lives up to the hype I will play it along with the rest looking for this type of game. I just will not blindly lick a PR persons boots clean just because he offers the moon. The blind faith shown for this game is akin to a cult.

I dont' need to defend my point. My point in this post is very obvious and speaks for itself.  What you posted in red is really nothing but diversion. YOU had nothing to disprove my point so you threw that up.  So yes when someoen does that I don't take what they post seriously. 

As to whether or not Tasos wrote that I haven't researched it.  I am going off of you putting  -Tasos after it.  If he didn't write it and you just put his name after anything then I can only assume my guess on the man crush is more accurate than I thought.

The quote I posted was directly relevant to your original post. You claim that all MMOs get delays which is pretty much true, but none of them have stated that their game was release ready prior to those delays. Not only release ready, but more complete then any other game in the genre at that same stage...

You wonder why people are critical... perhaps it is because of the lies Tasos spins. That will always create animosity within the community. The differance between the games you listed and DF is that DF has been delaying it's beta for about 6 years now, and sometimes no word for months after the period of time they state the beta will begin.

There have been people following the game for years (2003). Your post is something that a lot of the followers would bring up. Most people are tired of hearing excuses for DF and want proof. That's why your being beat on lol. People are sick of anyone who appears to have "blind faith"... I am sick of those who prove that they have it (downtoearth). Most never have anything worth while to contribute other than name calling.

No they didn't give exact dates but they did say in 200x or qx 200x, much the same as the examples the OP used.  Are we really defending them with the "it's ok, they had never given exact dates before" excuse?  What next?  They didn't give the exact Date, Time and second?

Lol you can't use "the world is this old so 20 years of waiting for (insert anything) is nothing!" There was some post of them saying 4 years ago the same stuff. This game was more ready 4 years ago than any other game on the market and open beta was around the corner. Everyone sits around for 4 and a half years and here we are.

Every game has delays, it's expected. Just the way in which they did it was stupid. They said they will never post a date until they know they can hit it. They did and failed. They also garunteed an open beta before launch. Did and failed. You could call this trial an open beta but not really. They said everyone could try the game before buying it for free. We will see if this is true, but with them saying you need to pre-order it doesn't look like it. We will see if it is true. Just if you put all the facts on the table they have failed in every department so far.

You may call him a troll, but we could call you a cultist. Which is pretty much what darkfall fanboys are.

Tasos has been saying since 2003 that the game was nearly complete and that they were getting ready to start beta testing.  Then at the end of 2008 he said that Darkfall was feature complete and would be released by the end of 2008.  His exact words were "The game could be released today"  I believe that was from the October or December update.

Curious that a game that was totally ready to be released had to be delayed twice. 

If you can show me another MMO game that announced that they would be starting beta 5+ years before the beta actually started then you will have some merit for your original post.

Lets just say we will wait and see how the game comes out, could be great could be Age of conan.

Fact is Tasos is a fanboi of his own game which is good and bad, its great to see a dev who takes interest in his game this long after its been in developement. But, he also needs a muzzel cuz he talks way too much crap about other games and just makes his own game look like crap.

Last developement team who had a fanboi as the one who did alot of there posting, claimed it would be earth shattering and life changing... Turns out it was Dark and Light.... Lets REALLY hope we don't see another game like that come out for a LONG time.

 Have you played most of the new MMORPGs that have come out lately? Everything should be self evident if you have. Even if the statement is bold, that does not make it technically untrue.

 What proof do skeptics have that DFO is not what has been stated of it? What proof do they have that at each step of the process it was a "complete" build at the time but not necessarily feature complete. Not everything has to be in a game for it to be played in a stable sense. I would like to see the proof.

It will be interisting to see if they can keep on top of things like patches and the hackers. Things tend to get out of control really fast.

Tasos and DF create alot of Fanboi rage amongst rabid wow players who want DF the fail really really bad. They know full well the first successful mmo release not plagued with being a wow clone or just a terrible release is going to hurt them bad.

If anything a delay and a willingness to fix bugs before release is a good thing. It's only bad if you were wanting a DF failure then delays make you nervous.

Hey but who's to say maybe it will be a flop, but I doubt release delays and bug fixing will be the reason.

If WAR or AOC cannot make a dent in the armor of WOW then DF will not also. Worry less about Wow. Focus more on the game you would like best.
