Well it is obvious to me that Darkfall is a failure.  If Aventurine really knew what they were doing they wouldn't have to delay anything.  /rolls eyes

Obviously, because Aventurine has delayed the game ONE whole entire time, obviously the game is vaporware.  I mean, WAR had at least 3 and it turned out to be vapor ware as well.  Hell I remember one of their delays being for a whole 6 months iirc

It might not negate it, but it sure does make it more understandable.  How you can compare the way that DF's launch is being handled to any other MMO is mind boggling.  Please tell me... How much will DF cost to buy?  What are the minimum specs again?  At what stores will I be able to purchase this game?  Where can I pre-order it from?  Honestly, you'd have to be completely blind to miss the number of red flags on this title.

They survived there delays and set backs, lets see if DF can do the same. I for one would much rather have more info on the game. I really don't put much stock in opening day launches because as you said most if not all have a few bumps in the road.

I have never had a problem with the game itself. IF it lives up to the hype I will play it along with the rest looking for this type of game. I just will not blindly lick a PR persons boots clean just because he offers the moon. The blind faith shown for this game is akin to a cult.

I disagree on your NDA comment. I understand the reason to have a NDA early in the build like Alpha or early Beta stage.  But having the NDA now is pointless and only does ONE thing and we all know what that is.

You assume I do not like the pissing and moaning. I actually find the blind faith hilarious. It is like watching a train wreck in slow motion. People on here that think Aventurine is the second coming will most likely drop the game after a month. Delusions of grandeur often lead to spectacular meltdowns once reality sets in.

I have no problems with people being critical or challenging me. It is the people acting like some great injustice is being committed by any hint of criticism that tend to look like carebears.

Are you kidding?  As an example, LOTRO released in April.  Go check the forum histories.  People were talking about lifetime memberships in February (when they dropped the NDA).

If you think withholding even basic information is typical this close to launch, you are mistaken.  Of course, that is if you really believe we're close to launch. 

You misunderstand OP. Sure, lots of other MMO's have had delays, (if not all) but few waited until the 11th hour like Aventurine did to announce the change in date.

Most were already deep into betas and volumes of information had come out of them which explained the delays.

Every aspect of DFO is done differently, has a slightly weird edge to it, and screams that there's "something rotten in Denmark." (with apologies to people in Denmark)

Truthfully, most of those other games you pointed out probably could have used a few more delays before launch, judging from the state they were in, but then I suppose maybe we'd never see a game launched if we waited too long.

Its all of the other factors added in with the delay which paints Aventurine in a bad light.

By the way, this is the 2nd missed date (officially), the first said they'd launch it by the end of 2008 and they clearly missed that by a few months.

As to whether or not Tasos wrote that I haven't researched it.  I am going off of you putting  -Tasos after it.  If he didn't write it and you just put his name after anything then I can only assume my guess on the man crush is more accurate than I thought. 

I've also noticed that you put the  after anyone who disagrees with you. Of course you don't do personal attacks though.

Nope, which is why I think it is hillarious when I am called a fanboi.  I don't even think this game will turn out that great.  However, reading the ridiculous comments by so many on this board is about like reading the ridiculosu comments by the real fanbois on darkfall onlines board. 

People here come up with anything and everything to bash aventurine/darkfall just as over there they come up with anything and everything to priase them.

The quote I posted was directly relevant to your original post. You claim that all MMOs get delays which is pretty much true, but none of them have stated that their game was release ready prior to those delays. Not only release ready, but more complete then any other game in the genre at that same stage...

You wonder why people are critical... perhaps it is because of the lies Tasos spins. That will always create animosity within the community.
