"We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope." - Martin Luther King, Jr. |

Stupidity reaches a new high. 1. Those small purchases add up to make Tasos and company very rich. If we do this and the game turns out to be crap, guess what we just told the MMO developer community? "Tell us you're doing something different, and we'll make you rich even if all you put out is crap." No thank you. A fool and his money are soon parted. 2. Unless you've played the game already, you're interested in the 'idea" of Darkfall. Few of us know for sure what the game is going to be like. You're likely in for a major disappointment. As far as comparing this to real life, ask Tasos if this is real life or not. Ask him what puts food on his table and a roof over his head. It's a business and you're a customer. They're not putting a game out to be your pal or to satisfy your longing for a different kind of MMO. They're doing it to capture a share of the market and to make money. So far, the only thing that DF has done differently is to take customer communication to an all time low. The game releases in a month (I should probably qualify that statement with a LOL). Can you tell me the minimum required specs? How about the price for the game? How about where I can buy the game? How about the subscription cost? Yep, they're doing something different all right. They're convincing nimnods to preorder a game based on promises and hopes. BTW, I can't tell you how funny it is to read your original post and then see you use terms like "flawed argument." Thank you for the morning laugh. |

Keep it up Zytx. Darkfall may not be for everyone but it's silly to believe the game doesn't exist at this point. |

wish i had admin access here just to see how many of the loony pro-DF posters here had ip's from Greece. If you're going to pre-order, do it with a credit card that backs all your purchases. |

The most stupid thing about all these haters trolls vaporshouters is they dont want new revolutionairy games they just want a 1000 WoW/lineage2 copys are they insane or what? There not gonne play it anyway so why troll for years the darkfall forums and hope it fails is beyond me.
Be glad some devs dare to be different then the evequest model, and evolve from games like UO and AC. Nobody force you to follow or play this game. |

What's real funny is that most people failed to see the OP was being sarcastic... but then maybe all the replies were being sarcastic with the reponses too... Oh I'm so confused! |

Believe me, I want Darkfall to come out, I hope it is everything it promises to be despite the odds stacked overwhelmingly against it. However, I feel the devs need to be taught a lesson in how to treat their fanbase. The only way they are going to learn is for people to be vocal in their criticism so that maybe Tasos and co. will sit up and take notice. It also send out a message to future and current developers who think they can act the same way and not suffer consequences. |

Originally posted by Evasia Man you have a seriously one-track mind; not to mention a penchant for spiraling off onto some ridiculous tangents. People being duly skeptical or at least cautious of pulling out their credit card for a game that has yet to prove it's anything of what is promised says nothing of their interest in the game, nor their preferences in the genre. To the contrary, many people here criticizing AV's handling of the game are interested in playing it... If you spent a little more time reading their posts instead of seeing the first bit of criticism and flying off the handle, you'd realize that. It simply means people need a little more than a bullet-point list of promised features and dodgy information to inspire enough trust to pull out their credit cards. Some here have already been through this before and aren't keen to fall for it again. Once bitten, twice shy, as the saying goes. People are simply waiting for AV to actually deliver on what they've promised before they support them with their money.

i never pre-prder MMORPGs! ever! i've found it's just a bad idea. customer suport tools and billing are frequently broken at release. emergency patches are common. and the launch player base just complains nonstop. it's all bad. i wait a few months until the bugs are fixed, the trial period runs out and the reviews have been published. then i make the decision as whether or not to buy a game. |

I'd be willing to bet the number of people who are overly negative about the game never touched DnL. More importantly I've been to enough forums to now know people come here or the official forum to get their jollies off by bashing the game. This isn't about discussing the merits of the game or the integrity of the developers. This is about jerking themselves off to aggression and hostility. |

You know sitting here reading through all these DF threads and posts about the statis of this game, makes me wonder if there really are this many dumb people in this world. Many people have taken part in beta's, be it from alpha to closed. Some from the biggest dev companies to smaller one's. The one thing that is a constant, is leaks. Be it videao, actual screenshots or whatever. Does anyone actually believe that a small out of the way foreign dev company has access if i'm correct, to 200 or so close family and friends that wouldn't break a NDA during internal and the so called alpha and closed beta's. This also goes for this so called free trial or open beta that is happening at the moment, in which there is supposed to be thousands of players. Do some people really understand that they have people that all they do is get into beta's and produce leaks. Yet this mmo is still untouched and virgin one month from release and the only thing to show is from what the devs have given and supposedily from what some friends have posted. I hate being a skeptic since i really do want this game to come out and have been lurking in the shadows for some time now. The biggest thing is, with every passing day as well as this pre order thing, it feels more and more like a scam than ever before. I hope i'm wrong.

You haven't been searching hard enough. You can even use google now to find leaks. You also are unaware that Aventurine takes their leaks seriously which is why no one bothers offering screenshots anymore. |

If the current beta testers lack the ability to anonymously post SS and Vids, how well are they testing the game? |

Yeah! Preorder so when the servers crash on day 1 you can be locked out for a few days like everyone else do to the overload. Seems to me Adventurine is ill prepared for what is coming to them. Like most mmo's these days. |

Yea let's be smart and pre-order a game that has basically no info, leaks, basically anything validating it. So we're pre-ordering it on the basis of "sandbox, pvp" right? The same company that said 4 years ago open beta was close? The same company that delayed the game 1 week before launch and said a limited trial in NDA was same as open beta?
I'm just guessing you are the kind of person people like to get in on pyramid scams... Quickly what's your address? I'll mail you some great info on a new sandbox mmo i'm making, I just need a down payment to get it started. |

You have way too much an appreciation based on your proudness and investment in those style games to appreciate the player-centric nature of Darkfall.
And I assume that anyone that has a join date within the last quarter or so is nothing more than a troll, hiding from being identified with their original mmorpg.com account. |

Some people can't read between the lines - even when the lines state exactly what is going on. Aventurine has been very clear that they don't think they can handle the load of people. They've actually said they might have to have a "staggered" release. It's one of the two main reasons given why there haven't been external reviews of the game. They clearly don't *want* any more interest until they can get some money and put up more servers to accomodate that interest. I'd say given their posts, that it's their number one concern at the moment.
Unfortunately, the haters on this site and others would try to use a complete admission of that as a reason why the game sucks, so they can't put it in so many words. |

But your playing WoW....a crap PvE computer-controlled centric game where player influence means nothing more than a single-player RPG and which many think your wasting your money on. So, its all perception, I guess. |

pretty simple. dunno why you feel the need to mount a crusade against it. let people who want preorder do it. no skin off your back. |
