Maybe its because my server is populated. Maybe its because ive forgotten the fun we used to have. Maybe its because id rather eat glass than keep playing WoW.
Whatever the reason, ive been back a week and been laughing the whole time. The game is actually fun. Even after all we lost, if you come to SWG right now and compare the amount of things to do be it in combat or if you are a crafter/trader/businessman profession... nothing else compares :( If you are a vet and youve tried to come back in the past (my last time was about 2 years ago) i strongly urge you to try SWG. Your vet rewards will make you rich and those starting millions will put you on par where you need to be. I came back, sold a few things and got top of the line weapon and suit of top modded armor for 90mill. That might sound like a lot but its nothing compared to the value of a few of those vet rewards:P Anyway, im on bloodfin. The server is so packed that its almost irritating (lag) but other than that.. there is activity and people hustling and bustling and fighting everywhere. Good for you swg. Good for you. |

Oh and by the way, i should admit; I probably wouldnt be having this much fun if i didnt get a free server transfer to any server i choose. I went to a crowded server and very happy with my decision. If you're on a unpopulated server you have right now (Untill march) a free transfer to go to certain select populated servers. Thought i should add :P |

Ok that's it im gonna try this game out. And actually the fact that Bioware is doing their version will only help this one, because of the next wave of hype around this license. REALITY CHECK |

I just created a new char yesterday on EU-Farstar (I think hehe) and did the tutorial and I was impressed as well. This tutorial is like a starter area (not private as you will see other new players roaming around as well) and is really well done and fun. When I landed on Mos Eisley it was quite busy with people. So that impressed me as well. I guess I keep continue trying it out a bit more, as I still got about 25 days left.
I am just having trouble getting the graphics right. With my system I can max out everything, still the graphics look a bit off and see some tearing here and there. So I have to fiddle with that a bit more. Cheers When www met dot , they then stumbled upon Secret Society , wich happened to be a Guild , wich in turn told dot about the net . |

Ok so I have up to 5 year vet rewards. What do you suggest I sell to maximize my income? Did you just sell everything or are a few select things worth mega money? I have these: Ugnaught trapped in Carbonite Miniature Boba Fett Replica Death Star Hologram Jedi Starfighter Hologram Character Respec Device VT1300 Passenger Lounge A Holonet Terminal Miniature Jabba the Hutt Replica Miniature Salacious Crumb Replica Imperial Guard Hologram Princess Leia Hologram Mynock Familiar Darth Vader Hologram Miniature Rancor Replica Emperor's Throne
I don't know what they are worth, and none of them are on the market. |

With the transfers its looking alot like the good old days. I swear you all think a games supposed to feel brand new all the time, and the atmosphere is supposed to be launch with hundreds trying out the game. WOW has killed the mmo, what Ive been reading it would take half a billion to keep up with current WOW, thats why you will be seeing more RPG's. Maybe in 10 years we will all see a new sandbox that is as good as the old game was, but from what Im seeing, game companys think sandboxes are a risk. With little reward. |

So I just have to dissable shadows as a whole? When www met dot , they then stumbled upon Secret Society , wich happened to be a Guild , wich in turn told dot about the net . |

Glad the OP is happy, come back in a month or two and say the same thing.... if you can.

I had it worst on Tatooine, it's bad in other places at certain times of the ingame day, occasionally makes the game look like a cell shaded animation. The big arse shadows that stream right accross everything in your view though are really fuckin annoying. Just try turning the shadows down a little at a time, start wih the volumetric setting. ...The spread of secondary and latterly of tertiary education has created a large population of people, often with well developed literary and scholarly tastes, who have been educated far beyond their capacity to undertake analytical thought. |

Yeah the shadows are pretty jacked up, dunno why they wouldn't know how to fix them There's something kinda sad about the way that things have come to be, desensitized to everything, what became of subtlety? |

I don't think it's a matter of not knowing how to fix the shadows, it's probably more that they feel they have more important things to work on. I'm a bit of a graphics junkie so I too see it as something they should fix somewhat soon. There's also another bug with shadows that if the vehicle you use is on your active toolbar while you have have shadows on, you'll get a large framerate drop whenever you have the vehicle out. If you want to use shadows, keep your vehicle on a second toolbar that you don't have active all the time. |

yeah, SWG's shadows have always driven me nuts. It annoys me too, since it leaves the world looking VERY dated, and without depth. Still really enjoying my free time. We'll see if I still feel the urge to log in when it's over though. |

I toyed around with the free CTS over the weekend since I realized SWG was still on my laptop, got in a guild and did instances then outside of instances there was hardly anything else to think of besides farming Nightsisters or flipping power bits. Once you've done all the instances more than 3 or 4 times, it gets boring and repetitive. And the lag is beyond irritating, especially when you're on Rori or Dant, did some pvp and my attacks were being delayed almost 2 minutes then next thing I knew I was dead- FPS wasn't an issue.

Main problem for me is Combat and the bugs and such. Just walking around feels really un-smooth. Like your constaly runing over a bombed road in Africa. You get the point. That's probably a code thing, that they wont fix. And the fast rapid stuff and shit, just can't stand it.
SO no.
Pre-cu ftw!"!!!!!!!!!!
Starwars Galaxies, An Empier Diveded, That's what it says on my box anyway. |

WOT DA!
Don't forget, around here if you like the game as is you MUST be working for SOE...
The "Vets" know what is right and for someone to actually like this game after they have said it sucks...well...that is just unheard of... If you are enjoying the game then I am happy for you.
See how easy that was? |

It seems that a lot of players are taking advantage of the fact that Veteran reward time is not based on actual months subscribed, you can even log in old trial accounts and claim the rewards having never paid a penny to SoE. Certainly not an intended use of this system, but enjoy while it lasts. ;)
