It is better to be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. |

Common sense? 90% of trolls have no common sense, as their antics and actions have only increased the popularity and interest in the very game they seek to destroy. Common sense would tell them to shut the hell up. Gullible imbeciles? The only person gullible here is those who read way too much into every word a developer or poster says. No one has bought any pre-order, as there has been none for sale yet. And as far as we know, there will be no charge for the trial since they said free. And the fact that it's coming the 22nd. |

Originally posted by JKnight1 If it's not invite only, then there's absolutely no reason to continue accepting beta applications, much less encourage applications, as Brannoc implicitly does in his statements on January 17th. 2009, where he tells applicants how to resolve application errors . The fac that they're still accepting applications means that they're going to manage the invitation process. Nowhere in Tasos' statement does he state that the trial will be "open". Once again, you're doing exactly what you're accusing others of, "reading into it" to reach the conclusion you want. ~Ripper |

They will take ALL they can. They never said it was an apply/select basis. Taking ALL they can obviously means as many as they can before it closes/crashes. Which means first come, first serve. It's rather obvious. |

Whatever, you all are morons who just desire this game to die so your precious little games like WoW and LotrO and other simplistic, hold-your-hand-so-you-don't-scrape-your-knee games can survive. It's too bad a mature, complicated, no holds barred, survival of the fittest game wants to come in, and make our genre of gaming what it used to be. I'll enjoy my time in the free trial on the 22nd, whilst you haters and deniers, and doubters all sit and cry as the beast rears it's head and torches your kiddy game. Ta ta. |

read the quote. nowhere did they say it IS open, only they are opening beta up. they have said they are opening beta up many time before when talking about the closed beta.
edit: quote:we’re going to start opening up the beta to more and more testers on or around November 10th |

Yeah, go ahead an compare me to that cult. Sure People can express themselves as much as they want, how that equates to me being a scientoligist, boggles my mind. Being they are a super secretive group. And only Tom Cruise has been vocal, and we all know he's just a pawn. Yeah, we will see. And if i'm not sitting her twiddling my thumbs, what are you gonna do?
Edit: No, it doens't make me a fanboy. I'm just tired of this pointless crap all you trolls spout. If it were any other game i'd be just as vocal. Attempting to discredit, destroy, and undermine a game for some redundant, arbitrary reason is both moronic, selfish, and childish. I'm done here. Like I said, i'll be enjoying Darkfall on the 22nd. Enjoy. |

Simple. Most of the fanboys that were the forefront of promoting and putting faith in Darkfall have come to their senses once Tasos gave them new BS on the 15th. It would seem like you still struggle to keep your faith and place fillers into Tasos' poor choice of words and bad PR. To believe what you want, because it keeps you going.
So what am I going to do? Watch you fall. |

No you won't, it is that simple. If the client is truly 18 gigs and is going to be released via a Torrent, it needs to be made available now. Sign-up and billing needs to be done NOW. The details of the process need to be done NOW. |

I don't really care who gets in as long as; - Free trial before you buy ( This looks grim since they reversed on the pre - order statements ) - Information that hasn't been through the Tasos Grinder reaches the public so players can make their own decisions about the game. ( I could sacrafice the free trial if this comes true ) |

Originally posted by Coman No it wouldn't. This "limited free trial" they're talking about is just an extension of closed beta, only with more players than they have now. They're restricting access to how many folks can download the client, and even to who gets in at all. I'll bet money they won't lift the NDA, either. As long as this game is under an NDA and testers aren't allowed to freely talk about their experiences, it's not open beta. If access to the client is limited, it's not open beta. Period. |

Simple as this. VG did not get a drop of my money, Warhammer was also avoided. Both of these games had much better pubic perception before release. For VG I waited til after release and saw what state it was in by the number of people upset. There is NO WAY this game is getting a drop of my money until I have access to a methodology to test it OR other people can speak freely about it. So if this "limited" "open beta" "with NDA" thing happens... Not a chance aventurine... not a chance !

They should just make this pay to play. From what I've read it looks like there are enough people to help them with a $$$ boost and they get $$$ for people finding bugs. Plus it would calm down some of the elite on their forums. Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL! |
