Anybody else remembers? I believe this was the very first time Aion was shown to a western public and like myself, for many people this was the first time we set eyes on Aion and it was love at first sight. The gameplay looked great, but I'd be lying if I said that the graphics and music didn't play a huge part in its appeal. NCsoft is well known for having great graphic artists. You could launch Lineage 2 today and nobody would complain. Lineage 2's graphics are very impressive but it's art direction is truly breath taking. NCsoft has really outdone themselves with Aion, it's like walking right into a painting. It's downright gorgeous. Back in those days we would discuss our favorite upcoming games. Chances are you were either a Warhammer fan or an Age of Conan fan, and while I certainly had nothing against them, I would always chose Aion over any of those in a heartbeat. It's great to see how far the game has come since then. |

I missed this video, at that time i have heard about Aion but was totally inmersed in Lineage II. Have to agree with you that Art design in Lineage II is awesome. It's still the one i love more from all the games i have played. Aion looks probably better, can't wait to play it. But NCSoft have more coming. If you are interested in good graphics/Art asian style you should look at Blade and Soul. This video is really great http://feature.mmosite.com/content/2008-07-31/20080731004136040,1.shtml There is a HD version downloable at the videos page on that site. Very advisable.

Definitely love Lineage 2's art direction and is a primary reason why I am interested in Aion as well. Check out S1 by Bluehole studios as well (some of the producers/developers from Lineage 2): www.bluehole.net/eng/eng.html Keep scrolling for the screenshots cause the website seems to be a bit messed up. ~Greatness~ MMORPG Blog |
