Im downloading the refer a friend trial client as I write this. I am just curious. Is the PVP in this game balanced? Is it a dice roll style PVP or does it take twitchy keyboard skills and fast thinking. Also I think I may need a buddy key for the trial so if anyone has one they can spare I would greatly appreciate it if ya hooked me up. But then again maybe I dont even need one...Im not sure at this point. Thanks in advance to any responses. (PC Specs) |

I have played many PvP games and specifically tried WAR for its hyped PvP aspects. I just let my account expire mostly because of the lack in PvP quality; it is not what I was anticipating. Basically you have two options for PvP. Scenarios, similar to what WoW offers, and Open/Lake RvR, while the concept is similar to DAoC it "feels" totally different. Scenario PvP If you like scenario style 12 vs 12 PvP etc you will have some fun working your way up through the tiers and many different PVP scenario maps. Unfortunately they can be very unbalanced and a lot of the time you get in with random people and if the other side is even somewhat organized they usually will win. While Mythic/EA has tried to fix the level gap issue, it still doesn't even come close to balancing out the level differences. From my experiences on the server Magnus it seldom was a close fight, maybe 10-15% of the time, it usually was one side dominating the other and pushing them back up to the guards/spawn point. Typically if an organized guild or group of guys got in they would dominate. Not that much fun for a single person just jumping in. I played 90% of my time with a guild and we would win quite a bit but it was generic PvP to me. Open/Lake RvR The "open" RvR doesn't feel all that open since you are basically reduced to a few select zones to combat in if you want to benefit the greater cause. The system in itself is somewhat creative and could work when more people have an idea what is going on. The real reason I am dissatisfied with it is because I was expecting more DAoC-ish combat which it totally isn't. I don't call swapping keeps and BOs PvP; it's more like PvE with a chance PvP encounter. Granted when and if more people get to max level and the servers populate there would be a better chance for PvP in both of these situations. But even if that happens and it does even now on occasion, it still feels very generic and stale to me.
Honestly if you like free feeling, more hardcore PvP I would just wait 5 days and give Darkfall a trial run. If you like playing a role, fitting the part, i.e. (healer, tank, dps) you may very well enjoy WAR. From what I have read PvP in Darkfall should have elements from some of my favorite games like: DAoC, UO, AC and M59. They bumped the release date till later in Feb. but you can trial it in less then a week. Provided they figure it out and get the servers up and are able to support the demand. I have been shocked by how some companies fail in releasing their games; millions have been lost because of it. |

Send me a pm with an email and I will send you a buddy referral that gives you a 30 day free trial. I have a total of 3 if anyone else wants one. Include what Server and Realm (Order /Destruction) if you have a preference. |

All out of trial keys, saving one for the OP, @ OP pm me with a valid email and I will set it up. It goes through the Warhammer webpage. If anyone else is looking for a key just ask a friend that has an account. Each active paying account holder has 3 keys to hand out per month that last for 30 days. Just log into your Warhammer account here: https://accounts.eamythic.com/ and click on Recruit-A-Friend. |
