First of all, it's Korean, not "corean." Secondly, all MMOs have gold farmers. Thirdly, I doubt you've played AION yet, and I know for a FACT that you haven't played Darkfall, so how you can make EITHER of these comments with any sort of integrity, based on FACTS, is beyond me. That being said, I'll answer the OP's question.... As of right now, it indeed appears that I will be playing AION. I've been looking forward to it for a long time. AND....I know that it actually is forthcoming. Darkfall is pretty much an unknown denominator at this time. It may or may not release and if it DOES release....only god (read: Tasos) knows when. I'm not a huge fan of FFA PvP, although, I am a huge fan of many of the other freedoms that DF PROFESSES that it will afford the player. I am an old UO player, so of course, Darkfall does promise some things that would intrigue me. But....they also are dragging behind them a record number of broken promises, and misinformation, in my opinion. My HOPE is to get to play both. The REALITY, at least for now, is that I will indeed play AION.

Calindor I was by no means suprised as many games have staggered release dates. I just do not agree with it. especially a 4-6 month stagger I still think it could be done in a more efficient time frame 1/2 a year is a long time. Edit: deleted long rant as i dont think it solved anything If someone is in the process of quoting I guess youll see it. I think there is little doubt at this point that you should go with Aion.... NCSoft is light years ahead of A venturine when it comes to the companies involved......As far as we know Darkfall might even be a scam...At least you know Aion is a solid product and that NCSoft isnt going anywhere...... Darkfall might release then take the money and run for all we know...... |

In my two cents, I'd say that AIon is going to have a bigger subscriber base than Darkfall |

Try Battleground Europe. It has no traditional economy, therefore no gold farming. Another thing BE has that Darkfall would do well to emulate is factional pvp instead of free for all. |

I play both of them if either game can do as good as they want then it a good game to play for a long time for me. But I play darkfall first for dog people then Aion later. I hear haks a problem on Aion so maybe if they can fix I play. |

I'll be playing Aion for sure. I've been following it for a long time now, and everything that I've gathered about it thus far hasn't dissapointed me. DF, on the other hand, doesn't interest me in a big way TBH. But even so, I'm the type of person that has to try everything out for myself, so I'm still going to try out DF....if it ever releases.... |

Aion is the game for me. Darkfall, even if it does actually launch in Feb will just not appeal to me. I'd need to see a lot more footage of Darkfall to make a final decision. Aion I've seen just about every footage released and a tonne of screenshots. So there really is no competition

It's pretty straightforward... DarkFall == NO. Aion == YES. Why? Aion != Scam. |

Aion! I know this game exists and have definitive proof of gameplay and graphics. Darkfall in my opinion has done nothing more than talk the big talk with no real substantial evidence ( too numerous) to back it up. Played : WOW, LOTRO, COH/COV, EQ2, SWG, and WAR. |

What year? Also, you say "the best". That's a bold statement to make for a game you've NEVER even seen, played or read a professional review by someone that has actually experienced it. I'd wait until I ACTUALLY saw the game before making claims of it being THE BEST! LOL! That's just me. |

Tough call for me. Aion has some of what I want in an MMO, particularly 3-D and flying. The same reason some of you don't want to try Darkfall is the reason I do want to try it. I support independent developers all the way. It might not work out for more than a tiny niche of the market, but they don't try to make everyone happy. I'm really sick of games that are too easy. The last three or four MMO's I've tried I can't seem to die. I can rush every encounter and only rarely do die. In other words, for me they're very boring. PvP answers that, but only if there is some PvP, and it's meaningful and fun. (not WaR) So will Aion deliver the goods, when I know that NCSoft is famous for giving the players what they want, or should I give to an independent who won't have a perfect game at launch, but does have a vision of more than dollar signs. I'll try both most likely.

I really love the look of Aion and the combat animations. I also think the character customization is awesome. I am also interested in Darfall for alot of the features they are saying they are going to have such as wide world, Ship building, house building, A skill system etc. And since no other games were considered, I am sure I will be playing Aion. For how long though is another question. I think are there are going to be some great games to choose from in 2009, and it will be hard to chose between them. But for now Aion is my choice. |
