With a week or so left until release time to get in your final predictions.

Darkfall will be most like..

WoW-Succeed beyong belief.
EVE-Be a good niche game that 100k or so love
Vanguard-Good game, but terribly buggy release keeps subs to minimum
Lineage -Mediocre game that people play for lack of a better PVP one
Horizons-Bad game the 20k faithful will stick with because they spent so much time following it hey couldn't bear to admit it sucks
DnL-Dead on arival. Stole your money, and 5 minutes in game 99% uninstall.
Darkfall-Delayed another year

Successful niche game, but I'd argue that it will end up being more popular than EVE. EVE chose a slow-building approach, where no one knew about the game at first. Darkfall has tried to minimize hyping, so theoretically if they can deliver on their core promises, people shouldn't experience attrititive disappointment and cancel their subscriptions. It all depends on if they can deliver though...

I must agree. It'll be a niche game, but only a niche game if it delivers its core promises.  If it doesnt do that, then we may be looking at the next tabula rasa, or even worse hellgate london.  Some people just don't like sandbox games, so thats why i'd say itll most likely be a niche game.  Hopefully that niche will grow more, but who knows.

I'm gonna buy it on release, so i hope for the best.

So many games are rushed so that they can be released as early as possible i can't help wonder if it will turn out like WoW or AoC.

Although Wow didn't have any competion at the time so it was a case of sticking with it because you new if they could iron out the bugs it had potenial.

I'm realy hopeing that this game is gonner be great, at the moment i'm playing AoC & iv'e run out of things todo ( lack of content, buggy raid bosses ) does have very very nice eye candy but thats not enough.

The only other game ive been following is SW the old Republic but thats miles away from release.

I just want to know which deluded individuals voted for the WoW option.

If it does release on the 22nd it will be a rushed mess like DnL. I don't doubt the intentions of Tasos and Co. and I don't believe it is a scam, I just think they have bitten off way more than they can chew.

wow released pretty much right when eq2 did. i know eq2 had some problems at release that got sorted out a bit..but eq was the biggest name in the genre at the time, thats competition. most people tried both open betas and uninstalled eq2 though.
