I would hate to be you on Jan 22nd. It's going to like catching your best friend with your mom and getting kicked in the nuts repeatedly all at the same time. At the very least, I'd suggest you remember to wear a cup on that day. LMAO! |

I really doubt this game launches in 9 days. If it does, at least then people will see that it's just another low budget MMO... more hype than product. The never satisfied crowd can move on to the next big thing coming out in a year or two. That's how they roll. |

Yes please, yes please. I would p2p beta for some indy devs trying to do what Aventurine is doing in this market so I hope so. |

The servers themselves which are supposed to hold 10K or more of players have never been stress tested other then supposibly by Bots. even if Aventurine has 2-3k beta testers as the fans claim they are not all on at the same time so not even close to stressing the servers cores yet. the true test will be the 22nd when +10K rabid fans with wildly different systems all converge to play. Personally i don't think Aventurine or DF is prepared. Many others here like Downtoearth, and Darthraiden feel that Darkfall wiill be more then up to the task, because Tasos has said so time and time again. |

I also voted to kill SgtFrog but only because there wasn't an option to ruffle his hair and tell him how adorable he is! |

Originally posted by downtoearth Really downtoearth you never do learn. So you are giving us first hand information here because you have personally played it, or is this just more of your facts like the open beta will be several weeks long? Really I would think you'd get tired of lying to people after awhile. (I'm bookmarking this one for the 22nd when Darkfall is released with less bugs then AOC or War and everyones in game having a great time so i can personally apologise for doubting you.) End point belief while a very stronge thing does not make something true. Hyping Darkfall 10/10 or the best game of 2008 does not actually make the end product on the 22nd better or more likely to succeed. In fact I'd argue when alot of players come in expecting a 10/10 best AAA sandbox game ever they will have unrealistic expectations that a small indy MMO, with limited budget, 30 devs, and little to no experience can not even hope to meet. The backlash i believe will hurt DF/aventurine alot, but we'll see 8 days. |

You cannot hold the date as fact ,because there has NEVER been a game in history to be launched WORLD WIDE.This means the game could easily and probably will only have a small launch.I would not expect a NA launch for at least another 6 weeks, anything sooner would be a surprise. You think when it took at least a year to launch WOW to JPN or FFXI to NA that you can cry foul claiming the game was not released on time? lmao, think about it.We have seen or should have seen the working videos by now,the game WILL LAUNCH,you will just have to wait your turn for the release in your area. This is again no different than what TCOS was going through with there regional rights. |

It doesn't have a chance. Played (more than a month): SWG, Second Life, Tabula Rasa, Lineage 2, Everquest 2, EvE, MxO, Ryzom. Tried: WoW, Shadowbane, Anarchy Online, Everquest, WWII Online, Planetside Beta: Lotro, Tabula Rasa, WAR. |

No matter. It has Failed to many already because they have no clue how to program it's functions.

I'm pretty sure they said it will release in Europe on the 22nd of January. America should see it 2 to 3 weeks later. Europe is their pay to play open beta. |

Probably because she was almost a week behind on her cartoon. The US release has no date set. Certainly not in two or three weeks. "Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice." ~Greys Law |

Sorry m8, when I say abruptly, I mean abruptly. I could have written as much about any game out there in 20 minutes worth of playtime a day. The only major insight was that some spells require fish. Great!? Sign me up! But, seriously, even the beta leaks have been less than promising. Really, if you want this sandbox, just play ryzom. If you want full loot, play quake 3 arena. What a great mod that was... Played (more than a month): SWG, Second Life, Tabula Rasa, Lineage 2, Everquest 2, EvE, MxO, Ryzom. Tried: WoW, Shadowbane, Anarchy Online, Everquest, WWII Online, Planetside Beta: Lotro, Tabula Rasa, WAR. |

Its your mascot (that pic in your sig) in DarkFall hunters eyes its to close to and reminds prey ... System Req ..officially no..just some comments there and there ..like single core unit can run it and such ... If you like i will share some common sense thoughts ... Aventurine don't want you to run and buy a high-end system just for DarkFall (a traditionally MMO never like to do that ) So if you don't have a very old system just do like follow thing ... With Reqs given or not try to run the game if its outwith your current setup ..if you experience problems then find out what part is to update / buy new PC .. What? IF the pundits are correct, and this client is 18 GIGS why would you want to waste that bandwidth on something that will not run on your system?? Avent should feel ethically required to post minimum system requirments to run their client considering the projected mass. This is ludicrous. This entire conversation is silly. The people supporting this company (not the game's principles) are silly. Why, for god's sake, should I download a client via torrent, which means possibly wasting my time, and bandwidth, for something that might not work? This is why companies post "minimum system requirements." This is the way you judge how not to waste your time. As for buying a new PC. I have a core2 3.0, 4 gigs 1066, Nvidia 9600GT 1024DDR3. I am good for most things...that is unless they optimized for AMD, ATI, Intel, or even Quadro... Information is key. The rest of this "Darkfall" conversation is nothing but speculation. They are not releasing anything on the 22nd.

so allot of people want me dead >.> lol Playing: |

I have seen this alot of times during my time playing mmo´s , when they only select a certain amount of players to be able to beta test they tend to be crap. Which is the reason they make you buy it before you try it. If they would allow all to betatest it they have nothing to hide and the community would be larger and people would not "buy the pig in the sack" which alot of other game companies done before. |

NDA still being active this close to launch usually means one thing...

The majority of good mmo´s had beta open for everyone about 1 month before and Dark fall have not. This is one of the things that makes me very sceptic about this game in the first place. Just like the games before used to have screen shots of 3D movies that where not playable just to show of the grafix but in the real playable game it looked much worse. |

Perhaps they are doing things diffrent from other games? The model otehr games have used didn't seem to help them alot in their launch. |
