A madman is''nt always mad, |
young teenager has been arrested after comments he made towards a WoW rep he was having a chat with. The young boy who cannot be named for legal reasons was talking to the Blizzard representitive when he made a comment about how the company’s game was “all he had to live for”. He also confidd that he was suicidal and that the game must not end. By Dean Sherwin A local newspaper reported that “According to officials, the teen was arrested Monday, Dec. 29, for inducing panic after patrol officers and medics responded to the boy’s home in the 3000 block of Pimlico Court. The charge is a first-degree misdemeanor.”
The teenager was said to be having an online conversation with the Blizzard rep when he made the remarks. Upon growing concerned, the rep dialled 911 and told the emergency services of his worries and about the comments made by the juvenile. According to reports, the boy was placed in handcuffs and put in the back of a police patrol car. Upon questioning the boy told the police that it was part of a plot to cause the developer to make decisions concerning the game in order “to try to get what he wanted for the game,” The boy is now due to appear before Butler County Juvenile Court. Whether or not the comments made during the online conversation were backed up by suicidal thoughts, the subject of excessive gaming has appeared one again. In the past, online worlds and video games in general have been accused of causing lives of many to become solely focused on the game. Experts say that while video games can often stimulate creativeness and other good parts of the mind, it is important to keep real life the prominent part in your life and to see video games as a simple pastime --------------------------------------------------------------------- TO VALIDATE ___________________________________________ MMOHUB.COMmmohub.org/2009/2270/news/teen-threatens-wow-boss-with-suicide/ ...eh i know you have heard it before but wow : ) |

Did it say the cops came to the boys house and took him out in cuffs? Because if so, that would be bad ass. ______________________________ What if Paul Revere was like the boy who cried wolf....? It happens all the time, you are probably thinking of infractions...There are misdemeanor charges that are cite and release, yes, but under certain circumstances an officer will make an arrest, it depends on a variety of factors such as the person's known history of arrests, severity of crime, whether or not the offense was violent in nature, etc. As for this guy...he's the typical MMO tard taken ten steps too far. There's something kinda sad about the way that things have come to be, desensitized to everything, what became of subtlety? |

Maybe I misunderstood something, In the title of the thread it says WOW teen threatens boss but in the story reported I don't see any reporting on a teen threatening his boss. Did I miss it? If you are not being responded to directly, you are probably on my ignore list. |

Assuming the kid's story is true, his little plot to give ret pallies more damage failed pretty badly.

Where the kid fucked up was the suicide bullshit. Most states require that anyone who makes a suicide threat has to be arrested and taken in for psyche evaluation for a minimum of 72 hours. Onc e the suicide threat has been proven false due to the "victim" lying, It is then punishable, not only because of the suicide threat itself, but for the cost of unneeded use of police and medical vehicles, teams, and facilities. Hope that kids parents enjoy emptying out their bank accounts to pay his fines. |
