Most of Darkfalls features will probably be turned off for release, but that's a good thing because they will probably all be bug free and polished when they are turned on after release. We still have the huge wonderful world to explore that's not empty or lifeless at all because you might find a monster like a goblin or skeleton to fight sometimes, another player or even an empty dungeon if your really lucky. The game is fun and stable apart from the crashes, and they have given us the basics of a sandbox to work with so there's big potential. We don't need things like good sound effects, graphics, animations or a user friendly UI or content yet, they can all be added easily after launch. There might be some performance or stability issues when more then a handful of people start playing at the same time on launch day, but with a latency of 200-300 ms the game is perfectly playable and there will almost definitely be US servers soon after launch anyway. The game has huge potential, if you get bored of fighting goblins or other players you can always do a quest to kill some more goblins or just relax and do some resource harvesting and crafting that's not basic or generic at all. Remember games got massive potential so lets support Aventurine and give them the time to finish the game and turn on all the features after launch.

oh yeah and what is your source for this? From what i hear they only have features turned off for closed beta so they can test specific items. Since the geme is not level based it is the best way for them to focus tests. there is absolutely ZERO info besides your speculation that it will launch with most or any features disabled. |

I guess I will take the bait. Are you guessing or actually have first hand knowledge of any of the things you claim. |

Beta tester circumventing the NDA, professional BS'er, a man with secret insider knowledge, or poorly disguised corporate shill? You be the judge. |

While I agree all the features wont be available at launch. If DF does ships with virtually nothing but a big empty featureless world people will flame it to hell. I expect atleast some of the features to be in at launch. If I log into the game and the only thing I could so is kill other players and walk around in big empty zones im going to be pissed. "Its feature complete" was the last thing Tasos said a few days ago. Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries... |

he is probably speculationg based on either hearsay from beta players or his own beta experience. I have heard from mant people that in beta they have many features turned off at the moment, which is not uncommon for beta in any game. Like I said before this is probably to not give away some of the surprises and to focus the testing. Just because they are turned off in beta does not mean they will be turned off at launch. |

If all else fails...you will get people who create content...which is really the whole point of a sandbox isn't it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

I can assure you I'm being perfectly sincere and honest... When Tasos says the game is feature complete and ready for release he means: They have completed the features that will be ready for release. Everything else is not complete or ready for release. You will find out what features have been completed and ready for release when you play the game, or he announces what features have been completed and are ready for release, whichever comes first. |

I can understand some end game content turned off until a later date. But most of the features should be in at launch. If they are not in then they should give reasons for why they where left out / turned off. But looking at there track record reguarding info, I don't expect that to happen. They know what we want, and info is not on the list it seems. I'm kinda leaning towards release of client and info on Jan22, and Launch will be 1-2 weeks after that. IMO Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries... |

I read it carefully. I realize it was sarcasim. You might need to take you own advice about reading carefully. That is why I asked if the OP had any real knowledge about whether or not the things he claim are not going to be in the game at launch. |

Darkfall Releases - February 25th!!! Vaporware trolls = scum |

Your posts use to be funny and witty with a good balance of skepticism and interest...now i guess after you were proven wrong on a couple predictions and Darkfall actually is going to release...you have turned to pure trolling and speculation over the last few months, and your speculation is never supported. Thanks for helping promote DF though. ---sig---

Looks like the veteran trolls are coming back out of the woodwork.
He's basing his information off of unconfirmed beta leaks. I love how when someone writes something positive about Darkfall its fake, but as soon as someone claims something negative in a post (amongst a bunch of POSITIVE things they pointed out) its insantly fact, and it must mean DF is going to SUCK! |

Darkfall will probably launch with most of its features turned on. There, now that sounds much better. not so negative and has a better ring to it. Ten people who speak make more noise than ten thousand who are silent. |

At this point I will believe it is released once people can DL the client and attempt to log in with some people actually getting in. Plain and simple, so actually your just speculating too granted its based on a statement, but havnt we heard it was going to be released before like in 08? I am sure you have heard the saying "dont count your chickens before they hatch" well it should be applied here with DF. Waiting for: FFXIV V2.0, ArcheAge,GW II |

If you read carefully not only does this game have huge potential as you have already noticed, it also has big and massive amounts of potential as well. |
