Whats the point in arguing all this stuff now...wait for open beta and dropping of NDA then let both sides have at it.......At this point nothing has happened but a release date....We have alot less info on DF than we ever did on AoC or WAR a month before release so that cant be a good thing.....It still seems like they are hiding something. |

The game is not available for general download or purchase." Does that mean the game won't be available for general download or purchase on Jan. 22nd or just that it's not available until Jan. 22nd? I can't imagine a Box of DarkFall at my local Store. Sorry. I'm european and i won't see that DF anywhere, but I'll check it out at Jan, 22. |

I'm kinda confused too though - because they said that the Euro launch is Jan. 22, and the game is not available for DL or general purchase, yet "NA players are welcome to participate" (or something very close to that, sorry don't have time to find the exact quote). So, what? NA players can play if they have a friend in Euro who wants to buy and mail them a copy of the game? As for my situation, I'm from NA, currently living in South Korea. So I'm tryna figure out exactly how I'm getting a copy of this game, and when.

I've never seen a game, any game, so close to launch not offer any sort of pre-order on ANY of the major video game purcashing sites. Oh well, watching the fan boys drool over this vaporware is very enjoyable. |

I too am mystified by the ambiguous release plans for Darkfall. It will apparently be released on Jan. 22nd in Europe only. They say NA players are welcome to participate, even though there's no digital distribution planned and there won't be physical copies in game stores Stateside? This all seems highly suspicious to me. Making your game difficult for people to purchase seems like a terrible business plan, but I guess we'll see what happens comes Jan. 22. Uh, what the hell are you crackheads going on about? There will be a digital distribution for this game, that is sort of the entire point of allowing the NA players access to the EU servers. There isn't a pre-order purchace for the game because they feel such business models are unethical, and they've consistently stated their opposition to expecting customers to pay for a product that isn't even finished or available yet. They also have said they will allow an extensive free trial for everyone to use (no stupid buddy pass system) upon release, so nobody is expected to 'take a chance' with this game, and will have the opprotunity to know precisely what they are spending their money on. What would you vapor trolls say if I told you I know with 100% certaintly that there are people currently playing beta as we type? For their sake and out of respect for Aventurine I'm not going to say anything more about that, but I'll enjoy coming back here to tease you idiots who had nothing better to do than pretend the whole game was some elaborate prank after it releases. |

First my apologies in advance if I'm necro'ing this thread. it is only alittle over a month old but I think it well shows The Fans reaction to the Jan 22nd DF launch date anouncement. If you take the time to read through the whole thing you see the "In your face trolls DF's coming out on the 22nd!"" No Pre-orders", etc etc etc hype that fans bought into, and now just alittle over 1 month later were proven incorrecrt. You'll notice many so call trolls in this thread, warned the game wasn't released yet. Had anyone stated then that DF would not even have a open beta going, and would be taking pre-orders come the 22nd. These same fans IMHO would have gone balistic. While I hope i don't get banned for this. (and at the very least expect to be flamed) I do think its a interesting read considering the facts we currently have and sheds some light perhaps on the fans willingness to accept the Devs word at face value.
