just interested.  yesterday tasos confirmed that A) there will be open beta and B) the game is still coming out on 22nd.

that means sometime soon OB must start. I'm curious at what point people will stop believing in the 22nd release date if OB fails to come.

because if you remember in december the game was DEFINATELY coming out in 08 and OB was going to end early december. and still people believed the game was still coming out in 08 what OB failed to occur, right up to when it was officially delayed.

going on that open beta's are usually about a week I think if nothing crops up on the 15th we can write off this release date for sure.

well ti depends how they dicide to run the open beta.. if the run it like apublic beta they could run it ont he 22nd as if it was released bu tnot charge anyone nay money for week or more.. who knows.

they think on a diffrent level than the normal

they need to do open beta BEFORE they release to stress test the servers. I'm pretty sure they have said as much themselves. saying servers will support 10,000 people is one thing but testing it out is another.

Open Betas are little more than try-before-you-buy things now. So it could come out the day before launch, and it wouldn't make me think that launch was being postponed.

yea this is what im thinking i mean tasos did mention this is how open beta are used by people anymore : / so that very could be there try before you buy plan.

if its next week like people think the update will be by monday : / i would think. im hoping theres one today

Yeah, despite Tasos' past statements about Open Beta and hoping to let everyone try the game for free...

whether it happens or not won't hold up the launch on the 22nd.

I think the game is Releaseing on the 22nd... barring some natural disaster.

Now what that Release will look like and just how many will be allowed to login to the game on Release day... that's a whole different matter.  I am still thinking it will be a mostly localized Release with a very limited number allowed for download.

I predict there will be very little gaming actually accomplished on that day for those that choose to try and wade through the others getting their download.

I will most likely be waiting a month or so AFTER the Release date to check it out.  If they do indeed offer the game for some sort of free trial or have a decent OPEN Beta before the 22nd... then perhaps I'll be able to make it by then as well. 

Realistically... that just doesn't look it's going to happen at this point in time.  So, I'll have to be content with waiting just a bit longer. 

The client is going to be 18GB download and they are using a slow method.   Most people are predicting the download will take 2-3days.   Wouldn't it be funny if they open the 'beta servers' and client download 2 days before launch, and nobody gets the client dl'd in time to actually connect to the beta servers

Well technically neither of those were discussed in the translation that we received today... so both of you are guessing.

We really have no idea. 

The 18GB size was started in the same way that the rumor about Open Beta starting the 15th started.  From the chat during the event.  Nothing from the chat has any semblence of being taken seriously.

I seriously think this game is gonna fall flat on it arse for a lot of people in these forums. So much hype is on this one that even a tripple A title would dissapoint.

I dont know if the game is gonna launch on time, but Ill be money on it not beeing a smooth launch and I think it  is gonna take so much flak  from haters and dissapointed punters its gonna be unreal.

When that is said I think the game is going to find its niche and get a loyal following and migh become quite playable in a year or so.

whatever happens, its going to be a blast to watch

As far as I know he hasn't confirmed this at all.

 I honestly don't want or expect the beta to be any longer than an extended 3 or 4 day weekend.
