Wondering if MMORPG.com really is composed of mostly WoW haters.

Rumor: MMORPG.com is known to be a haven for people looking for other MMOs other than WoW.

My Hypothesis: Majority of users/forum-posters here aren't WoW fans, because this site covers almost all MMOs and WoW is only one MMO out of the hundreds here. Thus, it's like a natural thing for MMO players to hate WoW if they love the current MMO they're playing because WoW is getting all the money and praise (from critics).

I cannot vote because I stand at neutral ground with it, I loved how it was but dislike what it has become...it still doesn't amount to hate as it retains things I like...in truth I think that the polished state it is in remains unchallenged as most of the hate expressed around is taken to extremes...

How about "not terribly fond of it, but certainly don't loathe it like, say, Runescape"? 

Don't love it or hate it although I'm pretty disapointed with the lack of challenge and content that the expansion has brought.

It isn't a hate.  It's love.  Like when a kid punches a girl he likes in the arm.  They're just too shy and unable to profess their love for the game.  When they say "la la la WoW sucks, its easy, and it's made for kids - not teens, but toddlers, still in nappys... retarded toddlers... with aids!!!", they're actually profressing an embittered torment of not being able to enjoy what so many others are for fear of torment from their likewise deluded peers.

I don't hate WoW. I had a lot of fun with it while I was playing, but unfortunately once it became more casual friendly/easy-mode (I want a challenging MMO, but it obviously makes sense for WoW to cater to casuals because they make up the large majority of their player base), I quit.

WoW gets a thumbs up from me.

   I think you need a 3rd option that is a neutral ground.......I dont love or hate it...It is what it is, take it or leave it......

So, because it's popular, it's therefore not "cool" to like it.  This sounds a lot like high school.

You needed another option of "bored with it" or "neutral"

I can't vote as I'm not bothered either way.

Your "Hypothesis" is flawed and incomplete as supported by  the majority of responses so far.

No vote here either as the only 2 options are too extreme.

I don't hate the game, It's just not my thing anymore.

I played it for a while, enjoyed my time and moved on.

I used to love WoW, noone was a bigger fanboi then me.

After a while I started wishing blizzard offered more (this was before TBC).

I would log in pissed knowing that azeroth had so many inactive portals and unopened zones. it came to the point of me just outright hating blizzard for sitting on their thumps collecting cash from its playerbase.

So I quit even though I was a MT of a gigantic guild that already went through the Naxx content.

Once TBC came out I re-subbed to try it, I was generally disappointed in the leveling and a lot of the class changes blizzard made just felt wrong to me. Once I dinged a few classes I realized this was just the same old gear grind like Vanilla wow and blizzard wasn't taking advantage of the game world like I felt they should.

Enter WotLK, what could I say initially I enjoyed it, I think I enjoyed it more then normal due to the large amount of time I spent away from the game. after about 5 days the same frustration and boredom hit.

Blizzards decisions on specific class changes were terrible and once at 80 the game falls right back into a raid/arena and daily quest grind. I'm sorry but for a game that's supposed to be the best MMO ever its game play direction at endgame is lacking just like every other fantasy mmo on the market.

I used to love WoW. I still like it, but far less than before.

My first impression of WotLK was great, but after I reached 80, it's boring.

The reason why I'm not cancelling, is that there are no alternatives. LOTRO is overhyped with almost no endgame, EQ2 is ruined since it's obviously becoming a subscription AND item mall game, WAR is simply Battlegrounds Online, DF is most likely a scam. Etc.

Where's the "I like it" option?

It seems to me as if nobody likes WoW.  They don't hate it, they are just tired of it. 

It's been around for a while now and people who have been playing from the start want something new.  That is natural.

I have never played WoW, but if it weren't for WoW, the MMO's I DO play would not be the game they are...SO...I LOVE WoW!!!

it only looks like most of the gameing community hates wow they have a huge influx of new players but also have a high turn over so there are heaps of people that can get ultra pissed at the gasme while the proportion may not be as high any other games wow is so big it just looks like there are heaps of haters when its actually a small proportion

I used to like wow pre-tbc and a little further into tbc.

When they started removing the attunements and arena was released, along with the other stupid decisions it has gone downhill for me since. I gave a try to wotlk, played a death knight to 80, cleared all instances, decided im done with this game and cancelled my account. Don't like what it's become.

 WoW destroyed the MMO market, has absolutely no unique features, and their fanboys are the most annoying people I've ever had to deal with. Oh yes, much WoW hate.

No, you wouldn't know would you?  I've never even played WoW, but I know you secretly love it, you just don't wanna admit it, because if you really hated it, you would not even check the forums.

If you hate something, you ignore it (or destroy it, but you obviously can't destroy the entire WoW playerbase).  You don't come to the forums and embrace all of the WoW "fanboyness".  That would be a waste of your time sir.
