The list of servers they are keeping is still too big. They should have consolidated down to three servers. Maybe then the populations would have resembled the pre-CU game. |

It's like the kid who takes his ball home in the middle of the game it might be wrong but it is there ball after all I have moved on to bigger and better things and am glad for it
Here lies the problem for me, I can't find anything bigger or better than what SWG once was for me, and thus the reason why I haven't gotten over it. Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic |

If they wanted high density servers given the current number of active players they should consolidate to 5 or less servers.

i am still mad with SOE, though i gave them a chance and went to their game that had the best reputation EQ2... look how that turned out. after i left the SWG (the day NGE hit live) ive been MMO hopping, i tried WoW (lasted the free month + 15 days) participated in GW beta 1 and stayed with it for the longest time i can remember. but only because i have like 6 RL friends of mine who where playing it too... so it was fun in that way, but it didnt give me the openness feel to it. went to EQ2... then sony cash shop.... (and due to other scams and pure bad business while purchasing a sony product for my dad for xmas) i will say that i will no longer buy any sony products (yes that includes the PS3) now i have found the game that gives me about 3/4 of the pre-cu SWG feel (EvE online) and i think ill stick with it for a long time. i have made that my new home. even when darkfall or mortal hit live ill stay in eve. its time for me to settle down and stick with something.
SWG is long gone for me but i still like to keep up with its features and see whats new. i go in trials. but i have a set of rules that i follow, 1. i quit the first rubber band that lasts longer than 1 minute 2.i quit if i spend 10 minutes without finding anyone (regardless of where and when) 3. i quit if i anyone or anything shoots me through a wall 4. i quit if its to easy and tedious 5. i quit i have the urge to say "WTF is this!?!" or "Is this it?" (so far i have not made it past 3 days) and even in the "OTHER" SWG im considering it hard depending on many factors.

What makes a good MMO? Good quality, good customer service, good business model, good fun. |

In WoW, you can generate a conversation of SWG exiles bemoaning the NGE with a phrase or two. It just starts flowing with people expressing how much they miss preCU SWG, and how they'll never play another SOE game again. CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested. Once a denizen of Ahazi |

Originally posted by pdxgeek We have gone somewhere else. Remember that the next time you log on to an empty server. Knuckle-draggers lol. Cites the warning about online conduct and calls us knuckle-draggers. Then tells people to leave when the biggest cry in the game is for free transfers or server merges due to population problems. Oh the irony lol. Knuckle-draggers, I'm still laughing about that :) P.S. to the guy who posted that, in all honesty I do hope that you enjoy yourself, and have a good new year. No kidding, I like to see other people have fun, and for some reason being called a knuckle-dragger really gave me a good chuckle. Also, it's the irony I find humourous, not laughing "at" you personally :) Enjoy! |

No, they can't. I'm sure the usual suspects will be along any minute to tell you I'm wrong but I'm not. SOE implemented a "smuggling system" a few patches back that consists entirely of delivery missions...just like the delivery missions from the consoles. The only difference is that the smuggling delivery missions spawn some bad guys that try to kill you. When I tried one of these missions I just rode past the bad guys...lol. |

Absolutely..i would be a happy gamer if they did not touch the game and had put in the CU/NGE crap -----MY-TERMS-OF-USE-------------------------------------------------- Everyone who logs into NGE destroys a bit of the SW Universe. No SWG Pre-Cu, No money to the $OE suckers , simple and fair. DON't agree to $OE 's EULA. They change the gameplay without respect your investement. Still looking for a game that offers what that one had, although I imagine it will be difficult to find....not just un terms of a lack of games that use that style/set-up but also because of the immersiveness the IP gave the game (people are very familiar with star wars and come into the game with knowledge about the setting and feelings about the storyline....ex.: there was something to base the choice of faction on other than reading a "background" off a website..... plus star wars had a known environment--familiar planets/cities/places of interest, known weapons, known clothing, known armor, known music, known "professions," known species, known animals.....nearly everything had a familiar element to it so the player stepped into a world they recognized and they were able to be a part of that world). Because I have not found anything that replaces it, I still find myself missing it from time to time and wishing there were a way to get it back. I seriously don't think Old Republic is going to be the answer. It may be done better but I think it will be based on the same premises that got us NGE. |
