As title says. I'm sure a lot of us have been burned lately by past horrible mmo launches. For example, Age of Conan, Vanguard, Dark and light, LoTR and the list goes on. Even warhammer was pretty bad, incomplete game.

Will most of you wait to see the general reaction of everyone else before buying the game? Because if everyone here is honest if the game gets released it's far more than a 50% chance it is a flop.

taking a firm stance on this one and waiting at least 1 month before i try it.

BTW, lotro should be nowhere near that list you made, sorry, but LOTRO had the best launch in mmo history

There is going to be a F2P period so everyone can try it out, unlike the other games you listed.

If its a free DL and some type of OB then why not try it. All it will cost you is DL time and some harddrive space.

Besides open beta has been confiremed (read my post on someone who went to the coffe deal), so no worries you can try before you buy.

Well to be honest im already for a couple of years burnout even tho i tryed a few and with last one AoC as biggest dissapointment in last couple years ye im burnt:(

But im waiting for Darkfall sinds half 2003, and becouse im was always big fan of sandbox and hardcore pvp, ill jump right in when a server is released and i can play, with offcorse risk that i maybe again bump my head but that risk im willing to take with darkfall:)

where did you get those numbers bud? statistics major? you have some background in game development?

The only real thing we know about DF is that the company making them has HORRIBLE PR, and we also know that PR is completely unrelated to how good a game will be (vangaurd had AWESOME pr). So basically, we know nothing about DF :P (other than the stuff we get from beta leaks, and the vague stuff the devs tell us)

 Please post the link to sign up for this F2P or even where anyone at Aventurine said there would be (not that they hope to have) a F2P period. Otherwise please stop spreading misinformation.

Yeah If the trial comes out i'll try it, if not i'll wait a month and see how its going.

I'm sure there's a dev quote saying that they plan to allow you to be able to play before you pay, and I'm sure many people that have been following the game for any length of time will confirm it for you. However, whether or not they were lying is yet to be seen. (i don't htink so)

I beleive the comment in some dev log or whatever about the trial was they "hoped" to have a free trial period for everyone to play the game before paying.

I don't beleive anything had been confirmed anywhere until this most recent (supposed) open beta start.

OP's thread seems a bit pointless... getting burned?  hmmm suggestive and open-ended for vague interpretation... I'll wait, but not because I've gotten burned, but would rather see an NA version pop up as a best scenario.  As to that end, who knows, I guess we'll see if 22nd will prove success or not (though I am personally rooting for DF to succeed and only because I'm tired of the same "Name Brand" (please forgive if I've stated this elsewhere) crap that has been vomited by the big Companies (i.e., StarWars, WAR, AoC... and future un-original content "Name Brand" Star Trek / Star Gate... what's next AvP MMO?)... anywhoooooo.... in staying w/ the OP's thread discussion I don't think anyone wants to get "burned".  I'll play it safe and see what people post when DF goes live.

All i can find is a bunch of posts on the official boards of people stating nothing definite has been mentioned about the free trial.  So why don't you help us out here and throw a link since people are confused instead of just calling us lazy.

Tasos talks about this in one of his past interviews, and mentions the word "free trial period".  I went to DF forums and searched till i found a bunch of links to his dev interviews ... no offense but if i had to search that myself so should you >.<

i recall reading an interview by tasos stating he HOPED to have a free trial period a good while ago.  I search the forums & google and all i can find is posts from other people asking the same question that has been asked here, asking for a link to tasos stating there is 100% definitely going to be a free trial and the no post with 100% definite links.

Sooooo, since you found the link Hidden, toss it to the rest of us here please.
