I was wondering, how many people here are on this forum because they intend on atleast trying DarkFall Online. I have a feeling 90% are here to bash those who are. Darkfall doesnt seem to have a large apeal because  its a action, skill base fighting system and open pvp. A game like this that is nothng like WoW or the countless clones and Korean grinder seems like it would have a small positive audience.

Im supporting Darkfall for years now on mmorpg.com i think around 2004 first time:)

I support their efforts, we need small companies to provide variety and to ensure that big devs can't trample all over the game buying public.  I would be willing to forgive a lack of polish in this game as long as the core gameplay is there and is fun.  If it releases in a decent state then I will buy it as I like the concept of the game as it has been described.  However I will wait and see what people think after launch. I don't see any reason to doubt what they say, you just have realise that how it will be implemented might not be as some people expect.

I"m waiting for the NDA to drop. How could I possibly know if the game is good or not from some blog from the developers? When players start to review the game with no NDA in place, I'll get a pretty good idea if it's good, bad, or ugly. Until then, I got no clue.

I will say it's not a good sign to have an NDA up this close to release. Usually, if the game is looking good, by this time the NDA has been dropped so the players can run around and tell everyone how great the game is. But, who knows. Maybe it's great, and for whatever reason they don't want to drop the NDA. I can't think of any reasons to do that, but maybe they have some good reasons.

I want to PLAY darkfall, not "support" it. its a computer game not a football team, so can we please get rid of this attitude.

and just because I want to play it does not mean I cannot be skeptical or have to believe everything aventurine has said. I'm here to discuss the game, the pros and the cons.

I think what people don't understand is that this game is made in Greece which may have different laws about NDAs and such. Furthermore, this will be pretty much Greece first game, the publishers first, and the developers first. I would be keeping it underwraps as well even if the game is fantastic because so much is raiding on it to keep sales as high as possible before people are chased off by minor details like UIs, graphics, animination, ect.

Football teams are only businesses owned by shareholders the same as gaming companies.  Big publishers aren't going to make good games unless they are forced to due to competition.  If people try to knock the life out of small companies we will end up with monopolies serving us up shit games all the time, that is not my personal best interest as I like to play good and varied games.  That is why I support their efforts and will buy their game if it's good.
