So which is better, Mouse/KB or PC Controller/KB? I played on the 360 and I didnt really like the controller set up, want to see what you guys perfer to play it with, and if it hinders or helps your in-game performance. -TORMENT GAMING COMMUNITY- |

I play with a controller. I have it setup how I want so it's fine with me. Some like the keyboard, some like the controller, and I don't even know if anyone likes using the mouse.

yea keyboard for me even though I dont play anymore,its so much better imo, you rarely use the mouse, most targeting is done with tab , enter, and F keys, when you get used to it. its much better then -wasd- for that type of game. controller is ok but keyboard is better. |

I've always said it really depends on what the user is most comfortable with. FFXI has built in controller support so being a console baby, by which I mean I played consoles as a kid and only PC games as an adult, using a controller is just a lot easier. FFXI was my first 'real' MMO, I actually started with GW but I don't really count it because I only played for so long and it wasn't that hard for me. FFXI had such a hard learning curve, I started using a keyboard and mouse combo and was always late with skillchains and generally anything. When I bought my PC controller and set it up I saw an immediate improvement. But some people just don't like the controller and vow that the keyboard is superior.. Alright, I got it for xbox, so Ima try it on that again :P and have it installed on my pc if I feel like that. Was wondering for my friend, incase he needed/would be better off with a PC controller. -TORMENT GAMING COMMUNITY- |

Keyboard imo ... I even use a keyboard on my 360. Drop the mouse though ... it is worthless and is aweful to try and use. |

The mouse+KB is the best and most efficient way to play,anything else may be comfortable but is not the best way.Controllers make you scroll to your destination,where as a mouse and keyboard allows instant access to any macro at any time.The difference can be minimal on most situations,but playing a job that needs fast access such as a healer,you need to be fast.I guess there could be a way to set your controller to instantly access STUN witch is another spell/ability/ws that could be needed quickly.In most cases ,anything that may be needed fast can be waited/sat on but for healing cases,you may need to be faster than taking your time to scroll to the one you want. |
