we wont get the reviews until closer to open beta/release tho

No thanks, that would mean we have to share a planet with him. The guy is more obsessive compulsive than Monk.

Look at his short history here on the website and the thousands of posts hes done, all praising the glory that is Darkfall. I got bored and did the math once, I think his average daily DF shills came to 7 or 8 a day.

Notice how activity from the "passionate community" is down 90% since a few months ago when they were all hooting and hollering final victory over the vapor troll haters?

The cat is out of the bag about the truth behind this game and it appears most of the vocal supporters have decided quite rightly that discretion is the better part of valor.

Hopefully they have now adopted the rather sensible position of waiting till they have actually played the game before declaring its the second coming.

Unfortunately that leaves the burden of damage control on the few remaining die hards who appear to of gone of the deep end somewhat.

Of course this could all be wishful thinking on my part and they might all be back the second Tasos tells them that everything is going to plan, the game is awesome, and beta and release are coming soon again.

to test a game at launch with tenS or hundredS of thousands of people is just plain stupid. their server are designed to have a max of 25000 people each, but 10000 at optimal performance...that is a lot better then WoW servers and i believe around what the eve online server was like at launch (however EVE now supports over 30000 players at a time)...it is expected that there will be around 3 or so servers at launch (on europe mainland, maybe 1 in the UK) and then 3 in the US (west, mid, east)

So that would explain the week long shut down of the CLOSED Beta server then?

Its crunch time.  We have 2.5 weeks to go until launch. Unless we see a ton of furious activity this week with regards to open beta, stress testing, etc, this game isn't going to come out on the 22nd.

yea i think whats going to happen is instead of full release there going to do apublic beta on the 22nd at least at least thats the way it looking

The action on the Darkfall forums are bigger now than ever?

Sure it dosnt have 250 k visits per day like it did that 1 day they release the gameplay vid....

But the communitty is growing.

People check this out. There will be a beta BUT here is how it will roll out.

The game will be "released" onto the world on Jan 22cd. A few hundred rabid spectators and fanboys will do a blind purchase and start chanting how great it is before they get it fully installed and updated. They will be the beta testers for Darkfall for a few months while they hopefully report bugs.

Where are you getting your info?  How do you know most stuff is enabled now?  How do you know they're moving on the next part of beta?  What exactly is the next part of beta?  What was the previous part?

Where are you getting your info?  How do you know most stuff is enabled now?  How do you know they're moving on the next part of beta?  What exactly is the next part of beta?  What was the previous part? 

 

Supposedly he has a friend in Beta.  That part is probably true.  From there it's kinda like the telephone game.  To say the least... some of his "guarantees" are a lot more than what the Devs will even say. 

I wouldn't put a lot of stock in his guesses/guarantees/etc. ... just a sample of some of the previous ones:

"public beta this year garrenteed"

"but im 100 percent postitive public playtesting will start before the end of the year AT LEAST"

(These were in regards to the Open Beta in Dec.)

So... not exactly a good track record with making predictions.

Also:

-no system specs released

-no subscription model or pricing information on monthly fees

-no concrete information about how or where to buy the game on release except people saying that you can maybe possibly download it from Aventurine, since that's what they heard from a friend of a friend

The lack of system specs alone less than three weeks before release should be a huge red flag. All the rest adds up to serious concerns that this game is not only going to miss the Jan. 22nd date, but that they're even further behind in development than they've led people to believe.

the only thing you REALLY got on DF is the no info thing, there are 100% no preorders, and the game is as done as its going to get (2yrs of internal testing...).

BUT we have yet to see whether or not an OB will happen, they had one planned before the pushback (and it was apparantly only 1 week long at the most). Expect an OB thats at most 1 week and atleast 2days, most at forumfall think its going to be 2 days.

That or they just invite 9800 people into beta so they can fill up one server, which would be stress testing without letting in 250k+ people to fill up their servers and spend all their money

This is the part that is unbelievable.  They stated that the game will be feature complete and ready to launch on Jan 22nd,  yet how can they know that if they haven't had a stress test yet?  They only have a few hundred beta testers, most of which probably aren't playing at the same time.

There just is a lot of 'wishful thinking' going on about DF right now.
