With the station cash thing, was wonder what can and what can you not get? Is enough to hurt the game? I was also wondering the level cap, and if it has been raised since the game has been released. The last thing I was wondering are there more mature people playing, say then WoW.

1. Station Cash store has "experience boost " potions

- some players find that gamebreaking

2. Level cap is 80,  was not raised with last expansion

3. Maturity?  in the eye of the beholder

but I personally found EQ2 to be better community than WOW

sidenote:

EQ2 dramatically changed the leveling speed to be faster in the October patch  (Game update 49)

www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/202369

the same update added Guild Halls and Dual core support

Mostly fluff items - even equipables are junk.

And yes, the community is amazing indeed. Be warned: You will very often hear WoW-swear words like: "Thank you" and "Please".

LOTRo (Lifetime) + CO (Lifetime) + GW + DDO + TCoS = All fun! All free! All the time! :)

Game hopping since 2003.

I've never noticed any difference aside from one guy wearing the statless armour that actually looks quite good.

The XP pots are extortionate - $5 for 4 hours of +50% XP - to keep that up would last $100's of dollars a month. I think SOE made a mistake by adding the XP pots because no one will use them but a lot of people will use it as an excuse to whine and give EQ2 some bad press.

Pots are pretty much the worst thing but they give away tons of those some of which are better as veteran rewards already. Hardly gamebreaking, especially since leveling is already fast as it is since they want lots of 80s running around. Rest of the stuff is cosmetic.

Definitely more mature people playing.

Are the servers pretty even or some more empty then others?

I wouldn't say their even. Though when making a character you can sort the servers by population. They have vague ratings indicating their load but it still sorts them, so the last server marked 'light' will be the most populated out of all the light load servers at that particular time.

I play on Antonia Bayle and the population is ok.  I understand it is the highest population server.

I should say I PLAYED on AB since I will not be logging in again and my sub is now cancelled due to the introduction of Station Cash.  If SOE wouldnt have implemented it in such a sneaky and backhanded way, I probably would have lived with it.

But it was rammed down everyones throat, with no announcement whatsoever, shortly after most idiots like me dropped another $40 on the latest expansion pack.

So unless SOE develops an MMO that will do my dishes, sexually stimulate me to finish or walk my dog for me, they have seen my last dime.

If you want to find groups play on ab or crushbone, Servers like befallen are very empty and hard to find groups most the time, Honestly i don't see why anyone would try this game out now, Soe will screw you over in the long run. If i was you i would play lotr or wow.

I have a life time account with Lord Of The Rings Online. I currently play WoW, I have 3 70's and one 80. Though I am considering leaving WoW. Vanguard did not move me very much, though I thought it has the best crafting I have seen in a game in a long time. I do like to quest grind, and I like a game that has some kind of housing. Vanguard just seemed too empty and EQ 2 seemed like the next best choice.

As much as it pains me to say so, since I have made my personal feelings about SC/SOE clear, if you enjoy quest grind and housing, EQ2 is an excellent choice.  The housing is instanced but the amount of furnishing choices gained through crafting and questing etc is enormous and tremendously fun for those that like decorating.

And there are far far more quests in the game than you will ever be able to complete before they grey out unless you turn off combat exp, which many people do.  The last char i leveled up skipped entire zones and still had too many grey quests left over (I skip Nektulos Forest all the time though since its a PitA.  And thundering steppes can go with it. )

But they grey quests still get achievement experience so they are still worth doing if you chose.

The Houseing might be instance, but get in a medium to large guild, and go into your guild hall and it's anything but an instance.

My guild has 50 members, and their are always people filling the guild hall it seems.

On the other hand, the introduction of guild halls does make the game look more empty in the old "gathering" points than it really is.

Qeynos Harbor, East Freeport, used to be a buzz with dozens of people all hours of the day, now their are only a hand full of people in those zones at any give time.  Thats largly due to guild halls and the fact that these halls have everything and more than those old popular zones had/have.

The fact that the guild houses might have more people in them doesnt change the fact that they are instanced in the EXACT same way personal housing is.

I am not saying its a bad thing, the housing system in EQ2 is great for both personal and guild homes but nonetheless they are instanced in the same way.  Multiple guilds use the exact same door to enter their guild halls.
