I got an email from Sony, with the following excerpt: "On January 21, 2009, EQ will be consolidating "The Combine" server and "Druzzil Ro (Tarew Marr)" server into one server to be titled "Druzzil Ro (Tarew Marr, Combine)." The merge will begin at 3 a.m. PST and will last approximately five hours. In addition, in conjunction with the upcoming EQ 10th Anniversary celebration, SOE is expecting to add a new EQ server in March 2009 and players will be able to vote on a new server type. .." About time, eh. Might be worth a one-month reactivation to check out, I'm thinking.

yep definitely about time. Good for low-levelling grouping which a lot of people must have forgotten is like now.. |

WTB a either a trilogy EQ server (Vanilla,Kunark,Velious)
ooor some kind of classic progression PVP server..
or a reinvention of Sullon Zek Diety based teams.. Sigh wishful thinking, ooh the SZ days <3 |

I would go for a server up to velious or kunark. With the new models option too. Freeport should use the original unrevamped zone though. |

Ditto. Up to Velious is fine. Luclin is when the game died for me. |

I think I am going to stick with Vanguard, and I hope they continue to work on it.

Persoanlly, not interested in EQ, anymore. They are about 2 years too late. What took them so long to take this seriously? |

I'd love a classice server with the option of new models personally but I need to remember this is SOE not Verant.
I think id rather bore my eyes out with a sppon then give them another dime after how they screw up one game after another. |

Does anyone know yet what the options will be when voting for the server type starts? I said I wasn't going to play any more EQ, but a new server might actually get me in again for a couple of months, but it may depend on what it ends up being. ... |

Here a new sneak peak of the new server types we can vote for: O Plat-buying enabled server: Players can buy platinum directly from SOE for only $39.99 per 1M plat O Power-leveling enabled server: Players can buy instant access to new levels O Raid-gear server: Players can buy top end raid gear for fixed discount prices. As long as supplies last! O NGE Reminiscence server: All classes will be removed and replaced by 3 new iconic classes: Tank, Healer, Damagedealer. This will remove any class balance issues and give players the real "Everquesty" feeling they are looking for. As always, it's all about giving players choices. That's what we love SOE for! j/k

Too little to late for me. When I cancelled my 3 EQ accounts I listed lack of a new progression server as my reason. I have moved on to a new game now and don't plan on quitting just because they are finally getting around to releasing a new server. Daragoth "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. I do miss EQ very much, but out of respect, I dare not go back for fear of me ending up hating it. EQ will always be my all time favorite MMO, but SOE has proven their worth and their greed time and time again. I can't fall prey to their dirty tricks any more. After being a long time supporter of SOE back in the day, even after SWG fiasco, SOE has done nothing but let their customers down. Even though the Station Pass does look mighty tempting, I'm comfortable where I'm at. Anyhow, good luck to those of you who venture back into EQ, cause it truely is a great game.

I am usually a SOE fan,but this smells fishy.They say vote on a server type?Something tells me this is a fake ploy to incorporate a RMT server.IDK maybe there is something i am missing here?why on earth with a struggling game,with servers that are less than half of what they need to be,would they add a new one?it just baffles me IDK,has to be some reason,i am leaning towards a money grab of some kind,seems to be their present day strat. Do not believe for one second when they say the server will be voted on by players lol,yes i am a bigtime pessimist here but oh well,we will see. |

Too little too late, and especially NO if people think like you. More than 2 months of Classic/Kunark would be enough to make my quit, so I will not waste the money to resubscribe. I think alot of people crying for a classic/slow server didn't actually play the game back when those expansions exist. It is not viable to do this, when most people already know how to level up as fast as possible. I know I'd probably be 50 in under 2 weeks for sure. So I'll pass :) |

Looks like my 2 bazaar traders will be offering "going out of business sales" since they are below lvl 10 or no room for them with all 8 slots full on Druzzil ro. All together I loose 3-4 chars, but fewer chars to play better time to lvl them.
