Vanguard, Age of Conan, Hellgate London, Pirated of the Burning Sea and D&D Online all sucked very very bad at launch. Vanguard and D&D took years to fix but now they have low populations. LOTRO and Warhammer gave all that was promised but was boring. Why am I stating old news ????.........BECAUSE YOU FORGOT !!!! I'll say it again..........................................BECAUSE YOU FORGOT !!!! For the life of me I can't understand you people. MMO home pages and features on them have nothing to do with real time play....... FLUFF......I was saying this about pre-launch AGE of Conan until I was blue in the face, beta leaks were coming out of the wood work saying the game sucked. But people continued to get sucked into a home page anyway !! Two more things that I don't understand : 1) People getting sucked into dev. photo's and movie clips thinking their real time play, when their just art work and movies " Hay everyone did you see the new screen shots? " click on them and it's water color painting's. 2) Game delays........Some people view game launch delays as GOOD they have more time to work on bugs. Well you don't know at what stage of development the game is in. The game could be so far from development that they are just adding the houses !!! Why MMO's announce games years in advance is a mystery to me. Darkfall may or may not be good, but lets remember, remember, remember and don't put all your eggs in one basket and enjoy other games and the great out doors ! |

and movies, offline games, music albums and so on dont???
be a bit realistic.. my guess is that maybe 1 of 10 release dates holds true..
people get so clouded when they focus on one thing too much.. people talk so much about this title that has to come and save the once great mmo genre? once great? many games had great aspects, but no mmo has ever been truly great.. |

DFO will suck at launch, but hopefully it will be improved the right way and sooner or later we will get decent sandbox (still not perfect tho!) |

It is human nature. Nothing to understand here but accept that it happens. The longer people are waiting for something and the longer thay have been without a new similar product ( like a sandbox FFA game this time) the easier to fall to the Hype. Then there is that thing we call "hope", that fills the holes between the little info we have (screenshots, noob previews, videos) with positive thoughts, the more fan/hyped the more hole-filling. Like being in love, you see her three hours a day and fill the remaining 21 hours with positive thoughts about her behaviour/personality. It is when you live toghether that the beautiful Princess becomes an ogre that leaves the dirty underwear splattered everywhere and farts worse than a sick bear. In a month we will know if we have a true Beautiful Princess here or a Farting Ogre. Gamers are not the only people falling on this, for example: Have you ever been hyped by a movie trailer/footage six month before release, just to found that the movie is bad but they did a good Cut&paste job with the trailer? Has happened to me a few times already, and expect to happen more in the future. There is an old saying, not sure if my translation will be good enough, that says: "The Man is the only animal that stumbles twice with the same stone". About the games you said just one thing. D&D is not that sucked or failed (other than it had little content it was a quality product) but that game is the very definition of a "niche" game, few people will like it and a lot will dislike the mechanics of it. At the moment a "niche" game has huge numbers of subs is no longer "niche" but mainstream. |

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL! |

Here is what I'm going to say.......WHO CARES!
seriously, If you DONT want to play the game then dont play it, simple. If your worried its gonna be a disaster then wait a month and see how things pan out. Seriously do you think this post is really going to change someone's mind into not getting the game?
On the flip side if you dont mind paying the money without a beta or much information then more power to you, give the rest of us a decent review so we can decide to buy it or not.
Why does this bother you so much, its so simple, if you truly belive DF is going to be a big failure then just sit back and enjoy. If it turns out to be everything it claims then right on, we finally have a decent game to play. If it doesnt its not the end of the world for me.
I just dont understand the point of these posts anymore, what exactly are you expecting from them? |

you dont have to spam old news on a message board only because you forgot. make a desktop wallpaper with this info for yourself.
anyway, you forgot what darkfall dont have in common with all those games you mentioned...darkfall doesnt try to be a world of warcraft clone.
go play your soulbound themepark grinds, let us play in our ffa-sandbox. |

me think , full of crap you are.
DDO was great at release, Aoc was a shamefull event because only half the content promised was there. Though on its own still a great experience.
Who forces you to follow a game. And what proof you have that screenshots and movies about DF are fake. Bloody trolls spending their hypocrisy always lol. Are you guys that concerned for our well being that you need to warn us from DF , and do you think DF fans stop living since they heard about DF?
*sigh ,

I half expect Darkfall to be the ultimate sham - they release it for pre-order only (full payment, of course) through their website, charge everyone for the product, delay the release (confirming payment), then shut their doors and vanish. The other half expects Darkfall to be unlike anything in recent history, and still only being mediocre by normal subscription standards. That may be enough. |
