Since the release of DarkSpace version 1.5, we have been hard at work implementing new features.

A full list of changes can be found here.

The most significant changes since 1.5 rolled out are the introduction of a semi-intelligent AI, and ship Enhancements.

Evolution of the AI...
The AI brings much needed life to the game. They run around the universe building planets, attempting to capture enemy planets, and doing pretty much anything that a player can do. If you need urgent supplies and players are unavailable to assist, then the AI will attempt to help out in their place. However, if your team already has enough members in the local area, then expect no such help...

Shiny purple things...
Enhancements are a new feature introduced with version 1.506. They are dropped by either AI ships, or other players, and add a bonus to armor and weapon systems on your ship. You can select which ones to install, but unlike normal weapon systems they can also be destroyed if your ship gets damaged enough.


Due to all of these changes, we are opening up our game servers for the next couple of weeks, so that people can have full access to them for free. That means no subscriptions and no coupons are required to access Prestige locked content.

We have also increased our referral award credit, so that members can get 30 days worth of subscription time for each new player they can get to subscribe to the game.

Palestar is proud to announce the release of version 1.5 of DarkSpace, which has been in development for over a year.

The latest version is highly anticipated as it contains the following features:
Numerous AI controlled ships now populate the game world and now the world seems more alive than ever.
Destroyed ships now drop “Enhancements” that can be picked up and installed into your ship.
Platforms are now implemented and allow players to build supply and defense bases in deep space or in orbit around their planets.
Destroyed ships are now returned to your storage with 5% hull.
Background loading is now implemented which dramatically reduced lag and pauses during game play.
New Art and Music has been added.
Added a several new ships and devices.
Tuning and balance adjustments.
And much more…

 Servers have been full, the battles have been epic, and the new AI and enhancements are great!  I thank all that were part of the development process here because it's amazing.
