A person thinks DarkFall will be the best MMO made to date... yet doesn't think they are a Fanboy?

I'm a skeptic, what else could any logical person be? To believe Tasos that this game is definatly going to release on the 22nd and will be "awesome" is akin to taking Osama Bin Ladens word for it that he will turn over a new leaf in a month and launch a salvation army hospital in Pakistan.

It's all about track records and evidence.

Skeptical.

I'm pre-cu SWG vet. Dev's and RP can glorify everything but the reality stands when we try the results.

I hope this game succeeds and have a lot of good feedback, but I'm still skeptical. And this is not only because i was ripped off by SOE, but because i've seen D&L land of promises sinking, TR sinking, AA sinking and the promised land of MMO Vanguard in a niche wreck. Experience stands against DF.

Too many promises. Lack of results.

I'm a "Skeptic," but I think it's pretty lame how you named people who are more optomistic, or pesimistic as fanboys and haters on your poll so you would get the results you wanted to get. (I don't want to look back and reply, so to explain further, obviously less people will vote "fanboy" and "hater" since they're initially insulted.)

Just skipping by here, but I find it hilarious that you actually "feel sorry" for people who spend 50$ on a game when it comes out.

A FFA PvP full loot system worked for games like; UO, JumpGate, Vendetta Online, EvE, and maybe more.  I perfer this kind of game.  One day, someone will make a good FFA PvP full loot MMORPG.  But I don't think it will be DFO.

Too many crazy fanbois . Too many cited features. Too much demand on the technology (network in particular). Too many desperate peple looking for the next MMO.  Too little information OUTSIDE and INSIDE of Europe. Odd lead developer. Odd testing phase. Odd number of testers.

I could be wrong but this is looking like an epic fail from subjective information.

I hate to agree but it does look that way.  I was looking forward to DF but the signs seem to point towards failure.

Also you can be interested in a game but become indifferent. I said it before, my life will go on either way. I want the game to do well but I'll move on if it doesn't.

I'd say I fall in between skeptic and fanboi.  I wish the poll had an option of 'Skeptical but Optimistic'.

This is the type of game I am looking for, and I hope that it's launch will be a success. To me a success is game mechanics working properly with few bugs, which can be taken care of  expediantly. A successful launch to me is not how many subscribers the game immediately pulls in. If the game is fundamentally solid the subscribers will follow.

I am skeptical to some extent also. I WANT the game to be good, but just WISHING for it to happen will not make it so. I am not going to blindly run out and buy the game just because i HOPE it is good.

I had seen a post somewhere (can't remember where specifically) that  there will be a free trial period.  I hope that is the case.

Anyway, the only prediction I will make is that in 3 more weeks fanbois and haters will turn the page to a new chapter in their unrelenting flaming of each other. LMAO.

You could call me a "Fanboi" considering i really want this game to come out with most of it's features enabled. But i won't go around the new telling how glorious it is (except a few times when i got caught in the hype for some reason)

With any luck, Darkfall will release this month and.. finally.. either be all it's cracked up to be, or it won't.  We are at a point that's it's really *poop* or get off the pot.. It sort of reminds me about the poem when the boy kept wishing for more wishes, until he died.

Skeptic.  Maybe a wee bit more though I don't see any point in hating some game or it's developers.  Hate is a nasty emotion and doesn't really have much of a place in this situation.  At least in my opinion.

Anyway, I was interested in this game when it was first announced and followed it as much as possible considering the continued lack of information, some of it's more unrealistic claims (which back then I just put down to the developers being overly enthusiastic) and a lot of silly comments by it's developers.  I wrote it off years ago, agreeing with most people who decided it was vapourware or possibly a very amateur endeavour.   I found it's rising from the ashes a few months back to be surprising but, so far, nothing has changed my opinion.  The strange secrecy of the development team, the lack of any believable beta testers, the endless NDA and all the recent silliness has probably strengthened my skepticism rather than diminished it.
