Yeah, a couple of days ago me and my used to be friend.. had an argument about World of warcraft.

I told him to move on from WoW and he almost bit my head, i told him that i was going to show him a different view of the MMO world and he told me"exact words"

- i don't need to see any other MMO, the only MMO i like is WoW.

Me- But dude, you don't Know what your missing, there so many games out there better than WoW

-There's nothing better than WoW, and am going to keep playing because for me WoW is the best game ever and with the new Expansion is even better!

Me-Bro, you don't know what your saying. i know like 10 games that can kick WoW in the nuts.XD

-Bah, if you dont like WoW then dont even talk to me..."Walks Away"

So i laught and keep working. That same day i called him an he did not pick up the phone, three days later he is not talking to me on the job. so i guess thats it. also he lost his girl for WoW, and he had a fight with his roommate.

is this a normal behavior for fanbois?

PS-Am posting this here cause he reads this forum.

I have to agree with what capn said. I mean, my friend used to play FFXI all the time and me and his girlfriend would talk about how it consumed his time while he sat 2 feet away and I'd bug him about it but it's not something to lose a friendship over.

Fanbois and haters are opposite sides of the same annoying coin.

If your friend wants to play WoW, then he should play WoW.  If you don't want to play WoW, don't play WoW.  If this split ruins your friendship, then it wasn't worth anything to begin with.

Better? That's a personal perspective.

In my opinion, the best game is the game that I am having fun playing at that moment.

Seriously this isn't how guys fight each other.   Get a few superficial injuries worse case break a bone...  Not pick on each other till one of you developes a eating disorder...   You both must have a social disorder no need to make one of you worse.

Come now guys where is the love ?It's Xmas  and New Year ..you know a time for peace throughout  mankind

Op sorry for the responses you received ,they were unnecessarily vituperative and unhelpful

You didn't really articulate your question properly but I think what you are really asking is " is this a way a friend should react over a debate about an MMO " .It clearly is bothering you or you wouldn't have posted it .Sometimes its useful to get strangers advice ..if they can refrain from cynicism and sarcasm

In my view the reason your friend ignored you and got angry was because you offended her by saying things like " WOW is a bad game ,how can you play it " etc etc ,.You see she took it as an attack on her .For example lets say I paint my house purple ..you walk into the house and say " purple sux big time " ...you are just commenting on the color but I can be offended cause it's the color I chose and I like it .Some people react like that to views .So explain to her you were taking about  WOW and not her character :)

Hope this helps :)

The fourth of july is a much much more jolly time of the year contrary to popular belief.   That's taking into account that the similar factors of being a holiday of family reunions and the sort.

Seriously just browse the stores or even the specialty ones for selling fireworks,  listen/feel/empathize to the modes of your family, and wait in the middle of a traffic jam.   Please tell me which season is more jolly, light hearted, and fun...   People who tell me that "tis the season to be jolly"  make me sick it's people like them or rather in some cases abuse their mind set that have devolved such an interesting time of year into nothing but a gauntlet of stress.

It's really no surprise that such pitiful fights are coming into even the Internet space...

Actually the 4th July as far as I am aware is celebrated only in the US ...where I live its just another day .I don't understand how you can think the Xmas period isn't an occasion of joyous revelry .So many reasons ...one being less traffic  on  the roads therefore less irritation driving around :)

Of course it is.   I'm not even that patriotic it's just that any random holiday that falls outside of the Gauntlet is a much better holiday for family gatherings and well any gathering.

The fourth of july just happens to fall under nearly perfect summer conditions and outside of the cold months, and other months that hold the worth weather.   If you're in the northern hemisphere anyways.

Has it ever crossed your mind that perhaps your badgering pushed your friend away from you.

Not at all.   Just trying to make a point and if my worldview comes into makeing that point I see no reason to keep my mouth shut to make it.

Location of OP:  Providence, RI, United States...  As for why I shouldn't point out an example that I feel interesting in this situation because someone might feel like bashing in on my head for saying I'm an American...   That'd be silly.

It's not my fault you choose to read my post.   And it's deffiantly not my fault that forums are so hard to get your real point across causing you to not read it how it should be.

Really if I heat your forum armor of +9 there's my inbox and I'll sincerly apoligize to you through it.  You also have the option of hitting that block button.  While it's a button I've never used and never will I'm sure some people choose to so their world views won't collide with others and make them frustrated.

All in all The point of previous posts were not intended to be Americism propaganda.  Anyone who would have been missing the real point of the post.   I also consider someone who would blatently raise their country above others an idoitic bigiot.   That said sharing that you celebrate a holiday that means something to you(family reunion, food)** does nothing to hurt others and is in no way be insultive to others.

**My god would you really believe it on the fourth of july every family that actually gets together(that I've come accross) has flags from atleast 2 other countries flying next to the American one.   While you may see this as in insult I'd have to say again you are not seeing the real meaning behind this.

So these are two quotes from you, OP.  The red parts are highlighted for emphasis.

So this phantomatic friend of yours managed to be a "he" for a good part, even lose his girlfriend... but suddenly this "he" is a "she" and lesbian too as she lost her girl, I guess.

I call "troll post" on this and I have the inkling that the green highlighted part is the real reason for all this charade.

Honestly, I have seen posts made to discredit a game way better constructed than this.

4/10.

Have a nice day.
