Yeah, I must say that most of the forumfall dwellers are pigs.

I love what the game promises to be, I wouldnt change a thing that Aventurine are aiming for, but I hope that enough decent peeps arrive to drown out these emotionaly crippled bottom feeders. Otherwise, the server is gonna be full of utter morons.

If more then 10% of the game is like these guys then I won't play, no matter how much I want to, no matter how much this is the game I have been looking for. It just isnt worth putting up with their sewerage.

I wouldnt hang out with them in RL, so why would I wanna game with them?

Well Lineage II had a pretty good community in game but if you went to some of the forums like L2Blah they were populated by some of the biggest asshat trash talking morons you've ever seen. Don't judge a game by its forum communities. They are usually a very small but very vocal minority of the overall game community.

The problem with your statement is this:

1. You mentioned L2Blah.  That was a little side 3rd party fan site. The OP is talking about Aventurine's official Darkfall forums
2. Lineage ][ also started off with a predecessor of millions of subscribers in Lineage 1, so a 3rd party website of assholes for Lineage ][ would not really effect the general masses of over a million subscribers.
3. Lineage ][ is a game known for their "somewhat shitty" community of gankers and Gold sellers so the argument is kind of mute to begin with.
4. Darkfall will not be starting off with NOWHERE near the amount of subs as Lineage ][ did. So having the darkfall forums with about 80% of asshats and muppets is a very damaging thing to have right....espsecially since the game is about to "release in less than a month."

I have to agree, if you skim forumfall most of the replies in threads are made in a pretty hostile way. But imho, they only represent only a small part (the loudest people if you want) of the community.

The actual topic you linked made sense though, the last couple of days the "advanced" forum part more or less exploded with some weird/useless threads.

In general, if you plan to post on forumfall, use search and read the stickies and stay in the Newcomer part. It's safer there, well, a little bit...

Generally people on the DF forums are either pig ignorant or as dull as dishwater.
Despite following the game for as long as I care to remember, I'm of the opinion that posting there is a complete waste of time for that reason amongst others.
If they don't attempt to clumsily wield the 'I signed up for the forum before you' stick, it'll be the 'Hey NOOOB, this was already discussed 27 weeks and 2 days ago, can't you use search?' stick.

And they wonder why people only just discovering the game might be slightly jaded in their opinion of Forumfallers.....ha!

I have nothing against people who join late, just when they ask stupid questions without using search, or even reading a recent (Curse, MMORPG Italia, anything) article. Forumfall is pretty crazy, I will admit, though makes for good laughs quite a bit.

If you don't like teh community, then go kill them in-game? I know a ton of people who have large guilds, but most of the members don't even post on the forums. Seriously though, don't cry about a bunch of nutjobs waiting around on Forumfall. Just go kick their ass in-game, then see how internet-tough they are.

Don't judge a forum by merely skimming through one topic, let alone judge a game that hasn't even been released. You can get the most useful info there, the main problem is that DF is for most of the Forumfallers the one and only Messiah which will ressurect UO to its 3D environment

Yea, maybe 200 active posters at Darkfalls official site are... like 10.000 at this site.

It's not just the offical place, this one dwells and breed loosers.

Who cares just kill them and there is no general chat plus only a few mostly visit forums dont think this will be how majority in game will behave.

i think forumfall is funny and just fine, its been 7 years! we would go mad if we had civil discussions like yours all the time, your forum is much smaller than forumfall and i don't think it can be replicated in a larger scale :P.

Yeah, since release date was announced, Forumfall has been fairly boring. All threads are the same questions, even in the Advanced Discussion section.

That is why you can find me on Darkfall's IRC under the name BruteForce. I still check out the forums, but don't post so much because it's not the same anymore. When the game is released, their will obviously be a point to them again.

Hah what are they going to do when the 09'ers come in and start asking questions? I guess 08'ers are not cool enough. I see very few 04'ers in there and most of the elitist posts are by 07'ers. Funny read though.

I supposed any FFA PvP MMO will attract some serious morons. Though not everyone on DF forums is bad there was a great thread ages ago about gender and MMO avatars.  There has been a few other high quality threads which surpass anything on any other gaming site I visit.

But yeah the DF forums are so nasty it not worth going on there, especially since release was announced. I've not bothered signing up as there is little to contribute under the hail of elitist dogma and general bile. I hope this is not indicative of the games population a few months after release. Don't think it is though, there is just some major sad cases on there that spent fives years following the game (this is ok), whilst using it to boost there own pathetic ego (the bad bit) and s*$% on there own interests in a nihlistic way. Vicious nerds eh ? 

Anyways in their defence,  I think there E-peens have been swelling for whaaaay to long. They need some serious release. Oh that just sounded wrong..
