I remember when i got Final Fantasy XI when it first came out... i was impressed with the graphics, the game play ect... but the graphics what really got me... i really liked how nice and smooth and colourful and bright everything was.... Then a year later i got myself the top of the line Graphix Card... plugged it in and didnt noticed much in my computer ect... but then i loaded FFXI and OMG..... the quality had jumped 10X.... i couldnt believe the game could acutally be BETTER then what i was playing.... i was hitting myself for not upgrading BEFORE lol.... So you have too remember everyone that the screenshots don't always do games justice and certain ppl might have the wrong settings or cards and boom... graphix arent as good as they should be... |

Does that guy play WoW? If the answer is YES, then you should know what that means. ;) And if he likes AoC so much, tell him to find a 20 vs 20 battle and tell him to keep highest graphical settings on. I'd LOVE to hear how that turned out for him. Aion's graphics are above average, but nothing THAT special. Thought you have to keep in mind that they are OPTIMIZED for large battles, it's a Race versus Race game afterall. I haven't played AoC, but I'll still say that Aion's graphics are ones of the best in MMO genre (although NCsoft really should do something with terrain textures... they make characters seem like out of place). Cheers. |

I dunno, but I find Aion graphics appallingly glossy for my tastes... |

Hear me and comprehend: The average Korean gaming desktop in internet cafes over there is updated only once a year, I hear. Knowing this, Aion was designed in Korea for Koreans to play and enjoy on low-end and high-end PCs, but even the highest settings in Korea's version of Aion aren't the best they could actually be. Knowing that, also know that NCsoft West's version of Aion will be slightly different from NCsoft Korea's version. One of the ways NCsoft's West's version of Aion could be different is higher graphics settings, since the average gaming PC in America and Europe is quite up-to-date (comparatively). So when we get to play Aion, we may actually get better quality visuals than the Koreans do. Maybe. If not, you can always use your graphics card's control panel to FORCE higher AA and better texture filtering, etc.. Want a really good screenshot? Check this out, I took it myself using medium-high settings:
And here's an image that NCsoft itself made and released, I have no idea what version of the game they used or what settings, but it's pretty new:
Here's another one from the same batch, so probably using the same settings:
And here's one from a slightly older batch, I think, so it might have used different settings:
I could post a lot more, or you could visit AionSource.com's Gallery for them all. |

Heres my photos on max forced on http://www.mmorpg.com/galleries/Devastati0n I strongly doubt that there will be any graphic increases in versions of the games. I actually believe there is 99.9% chance that the graphics will NOT change. Look at my photos compared to yours on max settings with a 1080P Resolution I am using 6 gigs ddr3-1800, nvidia 280 GTX 1GB OC, 1000W power supply GameXStream and I can hold an average of 40 FPS on max. The changes in graphic design COST a lot of time and money not to mention there is NO need for the graphics to be increased although I would not mind. The terrain in certain areas looks like it is from five years ago only because high resolution terrain is not a neccessary part of Aion. I think they did the Crytek engine, because it matched the fantasy feeling to the game not the mention the huge draw distance and bumpy surfaces that do not take a lot of resources. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is farcry fully updated on max with HDR on. Not to mention this game came out Mar 23, 2004, so the graphics engine was probably in 2002 or later. Imagine what Aion could do in. Here are the links http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/DeathNeedle/FarCry0000.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/DeathNeedle/FarCry0002.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/DeathNeedle/FarCry0003.jpg

You cannot compare a single player game with an mmo, even if they use the same engine...it just doesn't scale properly with the FPS when you include the possible hundreds of people/npc around you in populated areas. you would probably need tri gtx 280 in sli or 4870 x2 + 4870 1gb + c2d/q6600 or greater at 3.0 ghz+ in xfire to play aion in max settings during battles (for 30+ fps min). Because no doubt a hundred people fighting on screen doing skills and what not is going to lag the shit out of you if the textures, details, specular graphics etc were that of a first person shooter. Personally, i could care less, if they notch it up to that visual sexiness, I already have a 4870 x2, I'd just pick a 4870 1gb and xfire them if that was the case. |

The graphics aren't terrible they're actually pretty good. I don't like the style, but as far as quality goes it looks pretty decent. On the other hand all of the bright colors and exageratted angles make me feel like throwing up...lol |

Oh, I wish you could see my screen every detail in color is perfect and darker with more detail instead of all bright Changing the color setting of my screen made the graphics look way better to me. I put mine on Movie that has a lower contrast. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You really have to see live gameplay and high graphics screenshots. Whoever took this shot must not have had the best graphics card. Just give it a try when it comes out and i guarentee you'll take back what you say here. IMHO it's thee most amazing mmo ever made in every way. I especially love this game because it's soo beautiful, that you could just sit there and stare at the screen and take it all in. Aaaaand.....AoC graphics makes me hurl xD (more like WoW graphics >.<) Srry that's just how i feel about it.

Thats not true. I play many F2P MMOs that get updates on a regular. Witha few decent content packages here and there. I just say finding a good "free" MMO like that is rare at best... Mabinogi does a good job if thats ur taste in game.. very RPGy though. As for the graphics, I'll assume its based on your personal settings and what runs best on your PC. So odds are it wont look as good on your komputer... less u have the best of the best system but even that might not factor in,some games just run funny on certain komputers. lol Also: Not that its new or anything, but NeoCron has went F2P and offers more content then any game I've ever played tbh. Its a lil mix-up on whats going on. But the game is free u just pay for the license. I think thats 9.99 or something.. im not sure. Its worth it. Games I've Played: SilkRoad, Flyff, NeoCron, PlanetSide, Rapplez, UpshiftRacer, Drift City, TB, Kwonho, ArchLord, AoA, Exteel, WolfTeam, Shaiyan, WoKF Games I'm Playing: Imagine, Mabinogi, Games I'm Pondering: Aion |

I have also played a few F2P games that got regular updates and looked ok. They where also fun to play with friends. What I did not like about them was the item malls (but hay, they have to make money for there work) but I can live with item malls as long as they don't brake the game play. Second thing I did not like was the grinder/time sink of them. That is why I moved on.

Atleast some of the hair moves in Aion. Playing: Age of Conan, Aion: Tower of Eternity.

all you nubs need to stop worrying about graphics, they dont make the game, the game play does. Thats why people still play UO.
