I would have died and gone to heaven if they made a Shadowrun MMO.  It would be a perfect IP to develop.  Too bad Microsoft has their blaphemous hands on it.

I like the idea of GTA, Instead of textures being used to create all the buildings, I think most should be fully furnished and could double as player housing. Small shops could also double as guild housing, like a front for your gang. Along with being a really cool game, GTAO would be the poster child for video game violence and the media would go mad. Every violent crime ever commited would be blamed on some aspect of GTAO. The world would descend into anarchy :D

I have heard rumors and reports of a Oblivion MMo but as far as i know its vaperware.

Well, Bethesda have for a fact hired in a MMO crew. If they are making a Elder scroll game or a Fallout MMO however (or something else) is not known.

So much opportunity here, it's hard to know where to start.  I love the IP's ideas -- especially Underworld and Highlander.  Both seem like perfect fits for the MMO world.  I also like the later suggestion for Mass Effect.  That game freaking rocks and would be awsome as a MMO too.

Some random ideas:

1.  Transformers could be cool.

2.  The Dark Stone Trilogy would be cool in a MMO setting

3.  The world of Harry Potter if done right -- not the kid version, but a more adult version. 

4.  Fallout

Ravenloft -  to be honest though, I don't think this would work well as an MMO...but I'd still like to see it.

World of Darkness -  This is one of the few MMOs out there that I'm really anxious to hear more about.  Lots of potential there...but we now how that usually turns out.

Really though, at this point I'd rather see MMOs go back to original IPs.  It's almost inevitable that any good IP will be completely butchered and hacked to bits by the time it's crammed into the MMO format.  Story telling and immersion are not (currently) strong points in this genre.

Don't bet all your money on that. If nothing else, when TOR is out it wouldn't suprise me if Bioware made a Baldurs gate online.

There are many regular PC RPGs set in Faerun, we will see a MMORPG there sooner or later too.

I can think of a few IPs that could be made into good MMOs, but I'm not going to give any suggestions because the current MMO developers couldn't do them justice. Now if you had asked "Which IP's would you like to see bastardized by an MMO developer", well then I would have an answer.

Personally, I'm tired of the IP/MMO thing. I think developers should start making more of their own IP's for MMOs.

Personally, Shadowrun, and I'll actually give reasons why! (heh)

1) Good us vs them going (Runners Vs Corps)

2) Multiple factions

3) Reason for PvE and PvP

4) Great oppertunities to be an individual (Both character and housing)

5) Great combat and non-combat oppertunities (Both combat and crafters, as well as many oppertunities for new individual mechanics like deckers and riggers, so you are not all locked into Melee, ranged, healing, tank, support)

6) Gives a reason for both ranged and Melee combat in a sci-fi game.

7) With alot of runs happening inside structures, it's a good oppertunity to establish itself outside of a FPS

Battlestar Galactica would be an insteresting concept, moving quest/mission/social base maybe with content that would fade in and out of the game as galactica moved towards earth? 

I would love to see Garth Nix's Abhorsen series. Unfortunately I don't think enough people have read it.

Forgotten Realms is one of the few things I'd leave WAR for. I think 38 Studios should get to make that one.

Underworld would be cool, but like others said CCP is working on a similar or more original game where Underworld is sort of copied from.

I still believe a Bladerunner  could be succesful being made a MMORPG.

Overall I would like to see more darker themed MMORPG's.

For example I wouldn't mind another Lord of The Rings MMORPG but a darker one with more mature looking characters.
