Wow. I had a feeling this film would be bad from some of the promo images I saw of the cast, but nothing prepared me for the suck that is this trailer:

Goku is a white kid?

Goku seems to be a white kid who is Tall.. and who seems to be pretty well seasoned lacking that natural innocence Kid goku had and not only that,, dude seems like the every day high schooler being taken on an adventure...

I dont want to sound like the super hardcore dragonball z fanboy i actually am but... they couldve at least pretended they watched the show, goku was like 2ft tall throughout his whole childhood and only sprung up during the last turnament when he was 17 or 18, Goku is also huge, like 6'5,6'6, Roshi sure as hell wasnt taller then him.The only person taller then goku was piccalo, and not even by a little, like a good 6 inches, and the only person taller then piccallo was king piccalo which was just a giant guy, even before he turned himself intoa  skyscraper for the last fight. And who teh fuck are the seven mystics that banded together to create teh dragonballs.. and when the hell did goku ever in his natural life mutter the words "I am not ready for this" like ascared little bitch.

This movie is like someone remaking die hard 1 and replacing bruce willis with Nick Cannon, and instead of Yippie Ki Ya Mother fucker, He shouts Howdie Doo Neighbour Roo! And instead of being a seasoned, no nonsense divorced cop he is a clunky goofy seceruity guard.  I thought Burst Limit was a blatent attempt to whore the franchise for a bit more money, but this...  they didnt even pretend they did any research on the series, i guess they jsut assumed they can name it dragon ball and it would make millions, fuck making an attempt to have it make sense to dragonball fans. Hell i bet goku drives a fast car and is the ultimate ladies man, and krillion is his tall black, long haired wingman.

Dragonball characters are far to unnatural to cast with human bodies, the movie  shouldve been made in 100% 3d like Beawulf and voice acted,

i died a little watching that trailer. It really amazes me how you can mess up a DBZ movie .... all you need to do is watch the whole series, and these people STILL managed to screw it up.

I'd probably have less interest seeing the movie if they made it exactly like the anime, but being that I don't plan to see it anyway I also agree they screwed this up. There are a lot of people that like this Dragonball stuff and I don't see the logic in trying to make a movie for them and a broader audience. All they are going to do is alienate the audience they would have had, and maybe pick up a tiny percentage of the more main-stream audience. In the end their movie will fail(in the U.S. at least) and nobody who saw it will be happy they did(in the U.S. at least). You'd figure the Japanese would be the most pissed off, but my guess is they won't really care either way. The Germans would probably like it too.....Weirdos...

Reminds me of the Mario live action move. They seem to have the budget and tech to make a true representation, but for some reason have decided to go with a reimagining.

What can I say, I won't see it. I'm usually not fickle about such things but...I won't see it.

If I didn't know anything about DBZ that movie looks like it has an interesting story. I agree that it should have been done in full CGI though.

Too bad you can run up to a random person on the street and reference kamahameha and they wouldnt know who does it but they would most likely know what hsow it is from, there are far more people who know dbz then those who dont.

saw a trailer of it about 2 years ago. i felt embarrassed after watching it. i saw this current trailer, and felt even more embarrassed for myself after having done so. not a single one of those actors and actresses will be seen in another movie ever the fuck again. this movie is a career killer for anybody having ANYTHING remotely to do with it.

Such a shame they could have made a good movie here but after seeing the Americanised clips i have to say this one could almost be as bad as the Super Mario movie [anyone remember that one].

yes, i remember super mario brothers coming out. i am fortunate enough to have never seen it.

Being a nerd and all I was looking forward to this, but even the little nerd inside can't get on board.  It's a shame, but at least I can buy seasons of DBZ all nice and neat.

I'm wondering why I think this movie is here to attract people who is not familar with Dragonball. I mean I would treat this movie as a modernized Dragonball, but I mean I will admit it is cheezy, but would I watch it? Yes. I would watch it just to say I did. I mean your always going to expect that a movie can't be correctly emulated from a book/anime/video game (DOOM HAD NO EXCUSE). Yeah I feel the same way and I do think that a lot of people are going off a bit with goku and piccolo taking them straight out of the movie, I can understand that.

Personally, I can't say it's not going to flop, but even if this was just a fan made script, wouldn't you be in the least form tad bit intrested in how it will turn out? Just a thought. Ok I'm going to sleep, by the time I wake up, I'm going to read this post to see if I'm crazy or not.
