Surprsingly ive seen threads here on a 1 or 2 of these arguments, the others on different political sites, I thought this blog points out how ridiculous (and funny) these arguments are, but then again thats all cracked.com is good at doing.

Republicans have more to fear from their own party than they do from Democrats. 

Democrats want to help, not harm, the country.  Republican policies have let to multiple failed wars, bankruptcy, economic policies that have been disastrous, tax policies that have led to a great sucking sound of money from ordinary people to wealthy to offshore accounts, and health care that is for-profit and leaving millions uninsured.

Some Republicans like to get "angry" and voice themselves over cultural and social issues;  on tax, economic, domestic, and foreign policy issues, even if you are a social and cultural conservative, that party will leave you broke and jobless.

"Conservative forum-members would just like you to know that Barack Obama firmly believes the children are our future, and he just wants to teach them well and let them lead the way… directly to his herd-culling gas chambers. Oh number three is funny, this forum certainly hasn't been immune to that fear.

What failed wars? The last failed war was viet nam. That was a Democrat war. I agree the leftward shift of the Republican party has made them ALMOST as bad as the democrats, but Democrats openly favor that which is destroying the world, and Republicans at least only compromise with it.

The problem with the last eight years was there were no republicans -- only greater and lesser democrats.

Selling more cars to other countries would hurt our economy? (That's why the U.S. automakers are doing such great business right now! Maybe if we have adopted the policies of that treaty, we would actually be shipping MORE cars overseas to be sold.)

But in your mind, Clinton is worse because he lied to Congress about getting a blowjob.

Forcing banks to give home loans to broke handout grabbing minorities didn't help much either. Clinton sucks more than you know.

And about New Orleans - While I agree with you on some of the people living there, it was Bush's reaction and unwillingness to leave his stupid ass ranch that most people will never forget. But the people are messed up there (some of them.) Anyone who shoots at a fireman or paramedic who is trying to rescue people should have his balls cut off.

These two post are particular telling when you consider the NBC/WSJ poll released today.

Obama approval..............67%      

Glad to see Bush go...79% : Bush one of Worst presidents ever...48% : Bush worst than most...78%

Even I find the last number staggering. Bottom line, It's a very good thing that this country once again has a leader it and the world likes. This is a good day for America. I'm glad to once again have a person of substance in the White house

Wow...So a disaster happens in new orleans, and it's not the job of the mayor, NOT EVEN THE JOB OF THE GOVERNOR, but surely it's the President's sworn oath to deal with every frickin' crisis that happens in every frickin' city, and if he doesn't he's a horrible president.

Cute, but wrong. Republicans and free-thinking people "fear" (bad word) Obama because he will very likely make our government bigger and our freedom smaller. Simple as that.

So far, thankfully he is turning out to have been a liar to all the lefties, and may thankfully govern as a centrist, which isn't as bad as the hard left guy he has been most of his life. If so, that's a good thing. It seems he carefully cultivated relationships with some very bad and nasty leftists (ayers, wright, etc)  to prove his street cred and to fool the left within his party. The whole thing seems to have been a charade to get into power -- much like Clinton.

At least I hope that's the case.

But once again it gives rise to my question: are there any liberals on this forum who know how decent people argue? "Appeal to ridicule" is one of the basic, textbook fallacies.
