Hide your daughters, we're coming to town.

What are you looking at getting into in eve? That will 100% determine your corporation. If you are wanting to get into industry, try out the corp i am in.

Tri-Mining [RAZ-C]. Chat channel "Channel_Z". We have operations in both empire and 0.0

Our 0.0 group is much much larger than our empire group. Our corp has just under 100 members (95 as of yesterday), and only about 10-15 of us are active in just empire. the rest are out in nullsec.

otherwise, i would check out eveonline.com

go to the forums on their site. that has EVERYTHING you need. the EON forums are going to be your best tool as a newb. Dont get discouraged as you will get your ass kicked numerous times as a newb. dont plan on doing anything super important within the first few months of playing either. ESPECIALLY if you solo.

have fun

fly safe

it also depends on how you many skill points you have sometimes... some corps won't take anyone under 3million skill points...

What i recommend is that you hang out in the n00b corp for a few months and ask ALOT of questions as you need so you get many points of view. Unless you join a 0.0 corp that has been in 0.0 for a while you can ask them as they would know. If you join a corp that's empire only and fairly new, they might not be able to answer all your questions adequately.

Good Luck! Safe flying!

MMO's are okay, just don't let them run your life.

Use the forums, they help a lot, battleclinic also helps. People say the game is complex , but all it means is that it takes a bit of time to figure out.  If you like wars, issues that involve sovereignty, want to build a station and pvp using skills you aquire over time this is the ONLY game IMO.  There is a good chance that a dozen of the type of ship your are currently flying can take down a BC or maybe a BS.  Not to long ago I was in a group with 12-15 LVL 40-50's trying to take down a lvl 80 DK  in WOW - it wasn't gonna happen. In EVE even the smallest ships hurt the biggest ships in well organized groups.  Then again maybe your long term goal is to build a POS and reap the rewards of a moon, maybe you want to get in a NYX 7 months down the road.  The game is not like other MMO's there is a learning CURVE, and you have to stay focused on you game goals. The beauty is this does NOT mean you sit at the computer for 8 - 10 hours.  The player driven lore is great also, and if you read the forums you'll know how deep the player base can get.

The only thing I don't like is eve tv. Man those people are greasy and need to workout at a gym

Actually, check out eve tv, for the ships in combat, you'll see it's about skill and ship mixed perfectly together.
