Hey guys.

I bought lich king..

became bored with it in about a week. I'm on a pvp server.. and saw no pvp at all..

I'm waiting on darkfall.. but I need something to play until then, or if it flops.

I tried WAR beta.. and liked it ok.. but just felt like it was missing that massive feel. But. I was kind of interested in trying it again?

Definetly. As long as you make sure to roll on a med or high pop server. If you wait a week you can also begin the game with the two new tank classes available to you.

i bought WAR at launch. still want to play everyday, still think about it when i cant play. only level 35 and play often. the game is very good, i got bored with WOW in about 2 months, my son had to beg me to play. PVE gets old fast, thats why i couldnt play WOW more than 2 months. was never interested in WOWs PVP because it didnt contribute to the games real world. it was all instanced grid, for gear. didnt not like it at all. WAR on the other hand stays fresh, if you get bored with PVe theres RVR and scenarios. you wont hit max level in a week like all these other mmos out there. you get reward for PVP with real XP. makes it worth PVPing. If your not hurting for cash get it, best mmo to date in my opinion, this game showed me what true PVP is all about. also read the review on ign, it got a 9.0. also read the other revews on the web, the game hasnt got below an 8.0 on any site(maybe on a WOW fanboy site, lol) on the web. very good product imo.

"Worth Playing?"

YES! WAR is excellent.  I have been playing MMOs for the past 6 -8 years, and this game still has me hooked.

I would suggest avoiding the whiners, and dont try to grind yourself to 40 or you will go mad in the process :D

All roads lead to pvp in this game.

Get on a populated server like Dark Crag or Badlands and live it up.

This game has PvP that I thought WoW would have had...apparrently it wasn't and I had to wait all this time to get the PvP I rightfully deserve

I suggest you wait for patch 1.1 though...it will be more like WoW with the linking items in chat (finally) and also includes Open RvR influence which lets you get great rewards if you Open RvR.

It is off course a matter of opinion but it is worth trying, it doesn't cost that much and if it doesn't work for you, get something else.

It does have some really neat features but it do still need some work. Mythic are patching as fast as they can however.

Only you can decide if it is a good game off course, what everyone else thinks off it doesn't really matter, we have loads of fanbois and haters here who says one thing or another, just ignore everyone and try for yourself. The worst thing that could happen is that you waste a few bucks and some time.

I think it's a good enough game. My subscription is running until xmas and I intend to play it at least until then.

On the other hand, coming from DAoC, I think that WAR is a step backwards from some of the things that made DAoC great (sieges, RvR, group-vs-group). But since DAoC is pretty dead these days and otherwise requires a lot of time to get to 50 including items and to be competitive in PvP, WAR is probably the only alternative fpr people who like the idea of RvR.

WAR also needs some more time to mature, most of which won't be noticable until you reach a higher level and got a grasp of the underlying mechanics etc.

But as others said before me, the box is pretty cheap now, so you don't have much to loose.

WoW or WAR, WAR or WoW. The question has been debated and flamed for a while now, I forsee most of us in the Old Gamers Home fielding this question from a grandkid, "Papa which side did you take in the great Wow/WAR debate?"

If you have never played WAR then you at least owe it too yourself to give it a shot. You will never find an answer to the question of should I play X game on a forum. You will have to wade through the haters and fanboi posts and in the end you will still be wondering which one is right. If you truly enjoy another game, such as WoW, then don't bother with WAR. You will compare it to your previous game and won't get the benefit of going into it with an open mind. To me WAR is WoW without the PvE, I say this because about the only real PvP you will find for the most part is scenario's. Sure you will find RvR battles, and you will also find some pretty intense ones, but overall it seems to drift back to scenario's. The game would of been perfect if they wouldnt of put in scenarios, that would of forced all PvP to be RvR. Its a vicious circle, people scenario grind because there isn't always a lot going on in RvR, this in turn makes people that spend most of their time trying to RvR to hop into scenario's to get some PvP action, from there it just keeps going round and round.

I quit WAR shortly after Lich King, not that I went to play WoW or any other game just got fed up with the game mechanics. From day one the game is endless scenario grinds, that is where the majority of your PvP is gonna happen. RvR is a complete and utter joke, which is sad because that is what the game was built around. Will it improve? Probably. All games go through growing pains. I intend to go back a week or two after the new classes are implemented to check it out and see if the game has improved.

The main thing is don't listen to people that say WAR sucks, as they are wrong. And don't listen to people that claim WAR is the best MMO ever, that is completely stupid, as it is far from the best ever. Give it a try for yourself and form your own opinion as to its merits as a PvP game. It sure isn't the best, but it damn sure isn't the worst. Eventually the game will balance out and become what it was supposed to be and what a lot of us hoped it would be.

If you want to enjoy WAR, then save yourself the trouble and play Destruction.

If you want aggravations, and despairs, and want to hate WAR, then play Order.

This game is so ridiculously imbalanced, and bad UI, and sub-par RvR mechanics that seems to be created by someone that just graduated from college.    I don't even know why people are still praising it.   The only reason that I can think of, is that those people are probably Destruction peeps.

I'd say give it a shot.  As has been said, it's got some problems, but it appears to be slowly headed in the right direction.  It's fun in a group and the rvr isn't bad.  Find a good guild, find a good server (personally enjoying Badlands) and for the love of god roll order we need the help.
