Yea right, because the Darkfall DEVs are hyping the game that much... all other developers were bragging about their games months before releasing, launching markteing campaigns, downplaying other games, selling fanartikelceven before releasing some screenshots (MortalOnline anyone)... and now Aventurine is once in an interview talking good about their own game and you vaportrolls are complaning again... priceless :-)
Talking good and proclaiming their game has been "ready for a long time" and is "much more ready than any other game at the stage of development" are two quite seperate things.
And learn your terms. I have never claimed DF to be vaporware. *sigh* But go on...label everything that doesn#t agree with you in one swift stroke. |

*sigh* the trolls keep denying darkfalls existence till the end. Lemme ask you something, why do you hate on DF? The answer ''Because they never release it'' is retarded, because if you don't care about the game what's the fucking point of following it?
Tasos an echo maniac? yea right, read the post from the AoC dev against DF. That someone can be such a baby, unbelievable.
AoC, buggy game, still tons of things not working correctly. Hey! let's fix it by implementing DX10!!! |

Great interview!
I like this guy Tasos. These guys don't have billions of dollars, but they are realists operating within a budget. . I'm rooting for them, and I can't wait to play Darkfall when it launches. |

Exactly. And Tasos has once again removed any sympathy or right to ask for time if Darkfall has any of those issues at release due to his over-inflated ego. But I will wait and see. The question is, will I see a game launch in better condition than every other game out there, or will I see Tasos fall on his ass? Oh, the anticipation....... |

Awesome feature!
Thank you for doing it. And thanks to Tasos for answering those questions in a good way! :) |

This is getting silly.
We -all- should be happy that finally, this month, there will be a clear answer as to DF's status. Regardless of what happens, there will be a much clearer picture of things by the end of the year.
Apart from Tasos rather...unfortunate way of phrasing things in this interview, this much we should all agree on. Right? |

He sounds anything but professional. I can’t wait for something to go wrong, and watch what comes out of his mouth. As far as his responces, we have heard all this before. The proof is in the pudding.

Yes, you probably have to ask the questions your community is asking, but have you ever considered your community might be biased (of course, every community is - wouldn't be a community if it weren't biased)? But really: Even if the game was vaporware and just a big scam: Noone would would admit that so this questions was pointless imo. Anyway, all in all I liked the interview but noone should really wounder why Tasos is a little "angry" about a community that always portrayed darkfall as vaporware and even tried to have it not called an MMORPG anymore. At last, it seems the vaportrolls are finally becoming less and even though they are still wandering around here and there; with the upcoming release date, they should vanish completly. |

Thank you MMORPG for letting us knows a bit more about this game. Trolls beware you’re going to have to bite your tongue, I hate when people go around talking bullpoop without reading or making the minimal effort to back up their statement. PS. Thank you. Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. Is there a lot of hate towards DF? Yes. Could Tasos's rather blatant arogance in the thread be due to the hate? Sure, probably is. Then my question would be, Why has Adventurine, and Tasos cultured and fueled this hate? Every thing they release is vague, extremely vague. They dodge questions that arent about gameplay, or NDA game features, but about development cycles. They dont do any main stream media previews, and when they finally hit a mainstream outlet, they come off as curt and rude. Sure MMORPG.com asked some tough questions... but... its nothing that most of us that are labeled as "Haters" by the fanbois have been screaming about for years. Most of us that are skeptical about DF, have been following the game since we played UO and AC1. We were at one point in time rather hopeful about the game (at least I know I was)... but you can only fake start beta so many times, pretend to be close to launch so many times. Eventually you get to the point that you want to see some hard evidence before you get your hopes up again. Adventurine could turn around the DF negativity TOMORROW, by letting IGN, MMORPG, Gamespy, and a few others into beta, and giving them freedom to post what they think. Information would flood out, skeptics would have their doubts either shattered or confirmed, and DF would get some much needed publicity. Adventurine however has chosen to treat DF like the roswel incident. We know somethings going on in that dessert, but we dont know if its aliens or a weather ballon. IF darkfall is as close to release as Tasos claims, then there is no reason to NOT get the media behind them. Its free advertising. However, assuming everything is as good as Tasos says (which we have no third party to verify that) the only thing that disturbs me is beta. Several hundred people is less than 1000. Most MMO servers now have 2000 - 10000 people on one server. With so few people there, they have no way of stress testing the servers or their network. Even if Darkfall is as badass as we are being led to believe, we are being setup for experiencing server side lag and conectivity issues that havent been seen since the first week of Ultima Online launch back in August of 1997. |

It's not that people want the game to fail. It's just that some are very realistic with their expectations and for them, the writing has seemingly been on the Darkfall wall for quite some time. I'd like to see Darkfall deliver and be successful, but with everything I've seen and read and heard, I'm ready for when the game finally drops and this forum erupts upon discovering that the finished product is a far cry from what has been promised all along. I'd love to be proved wrong but the past speaks for itself with regards to indie MMO's and it hasn't been pretty. And time after time those of us who are skeptical have been waiting for the Darkfall ship to turn around and show true promise, not just a lot of hot air and smoke up our asses. This interview was more of the same as far as I'm concerned. ![]() |
