I think this might be old news, but I came across a forum that noted that SOE's so called skeletal revamp for EQ2 was abandoned.  I don't play the game anymore but it kind of angered me to be honest after so many years of them claiming that 'its being worked on" when in truth we find out it wasn't at all.  They kept saying and promising it would come out in the next few months, leak out a few details,  and month after month it got pushed back or you never heard anything about it.  They flat out lied!  How do companies get away with promising their customers and subcriber base something and and not delivering?  Its outrageous to me anyway.  If they killed it, what exactly HAVE they been working on?  I know its SOE and they lie out their teeth to keep subs, but when is it going too far?  They just continally string people on.  It should be embarasasing for them to keep up with this type of behavior.

So they finally went out with this. The 2 races from ROK arethen the only ones in the game with the "New" system.

Funny enough they were at the same time saying that they wont add multi core support and then they suddenly did that.

Annoying since we all saw the old human revamped they showed years ago. You could think that they easily could reuse the models from Vanguard or something at least, this is bad because the game really needs an upgrade of the avatars.

Ah consumer complacency, I guess thats why SOE gets away with what they do.  Sorry, but if I paid for something that did not get delivered, I am not going to sit around, do nothing, and just "get over it".  This is typical SOE behavior its nothing new at all.  Let them continue to ream customers in the butt, and they will.  Its up to players to stop this type of treatment in the MMORPG industry by not support companies that produce such bold face lies about their products.  If I pay 5 dollars for a burger, I don't expect to wait 5 hours in line only to be told they never bothered to cook it or fufill the order in any way and instead I'm getting a fish fillet.  In NO other industry would this treatment fly.

it's not a matter of "soon" as much as "it's still on the plate and being worked on". Having to go through every single skeleton and to then choose the least impacting way to clean house to make armor making easier is a LONG task.

So the "official word" is that revamps are still coming, but don't hold your breath that it's coming "soon".

Yes, this is very old news, and we've already talked about it here. No use bringing up an old post, as it was already dealt with, and though some of us were disappointed, it really wasn't a big deal. Most even already knew/thought that it was nearly impossible this late in the game anyways. Your reaction is quite "interesting"... considering you don't even play the game, but I guess I'll help the troll along your merry way.

They always said they were looking at doing a skeletal revamp for easier armor creation, and many assume and speculate from there. While there was a lot of talk about it from the playerbase, they said very little from devs until they could find out how plausible it was. Considering 4 major expansions, and having to actually change the very nature of the game this late, not to mention ALL the armor, weapons, and items we interact with in the game (like mounts for instance), it would be a HUGE undertaking. The only real "promised" change to all this work would be a little more variety in armor look.

Well, whoopty doo. Less content, which I'm PAYING for, less updates, which I'm PAYING for, and less playtime, which I'm PAYING for, to be interrupted by changing something very insignificant in the big picture, armor look, which I'm NOT PAYING for. Your analogy is extremely erroneous to the point of comedy, and any intelligent human being can see that they opted for the less stressful, less interruptive way to go. Skeletal revamps would have been incredibly disruptive to the game, and may not even have worked at all.

We have dozens of different armor styles, colors, choices, and looks to choose from per tier per material, as proven by SEVERAL earlier posts in this forum. We have completely customizable look options to choose armor we're not even wearing to look like any time, and change, any time we want. With thousands of different choices to mix and max as we choose any time, and with the art/gear dept. working on armor and weapons, instead of worrying about a lame duck skeletal update, they can dream and design to their hearts desire.

Bully for them. Thank you SoE for not ruining my gaming experience by throwing what may have been a HUGE wrench in the game and finding other, more productive ways to enhance my experience.

I think just about ever MMO has said they were going to do something then ended up not. May it be because of lack of money.... time.... man power... etc etc.

Am i upset... yes, but i didnt start playing this game because of the revamp. So them not being able to add it is not going to stop me from playing because there is so much more that this game has to offer even without the revamp.

what if this so called "consumer" didnt want them to change them, and thought they were fine the way they are. so, yeah, i will just "get over it."

rofl... wanna bet? You don't work in the hotel industry, do you? Its all about supply and demand, kid. The devs won't change something if most people feel it doesn't need to be changed, or at least they shouldn't. The minority have been getting pandered to far too much in MMO's.

I do hope SOE is serious about fundamental game mechanic upgrades and won't write it off as too expensive - SOE is notoriously cheap when it comes to dev budgets and expansions/revamps... you know the devs are underpaid when they are willing to accept "personal services" for in-game advantages!

 Other studios have proven that it is possible for older games to successfully and profitably upgrade systems to keep competitive - EVE is a great example, with their continuous innovation and coding upgrades... I look forward to their "walking in stations" expansion coming up next year! I hope Smed has his eye on EVE and can learn a new trick in game development - EQ2 has a lot going for it and I hope to see more improvements in the future!

I really want to try EQ2 out so can someone please tell me if i buy the new expansion do i need the original EQ2 game or does it come with it? Thanks

EQ2 expansions include the entire game including previous expansions.

buy the latest expansion and you get the orginal and all adenvture packs and expansions

not sure if you can buy digital from station.com without the origianl first but you can try that then id normaly suggest www.direct2drive.com or www.direct2drive.co.uk but that should work otherwise im not sure

Thanks for your help guys but i am starting to think the expansion is not out in Australia yet because every site i go to says for sale in the US and Canada only. And i have called EBGames and others and they have not heard of it yet. Shame really

I think given the seemingly tiny dev team EQ2 has nowadays its a good job the skelly revamp was laid to rest

I actually cried into a big man-sized tissue when I heard. This sort of thing really needs to be addressed by current affairs shows and perhaps, if I may be so bold, legislated against so this sort of thing NEVER happens again!
