ok i resubbed to WAR 2 days ago for what ever reason. to find out the server i was on anlec [oceanic] was medium order and high destruction a month or what ever ago. and now its low low and i had to get a free transfer. oh well not so bad i see few people running round, have a few fun scenarios. but what gets me is that this game is a copy of wow, lotro, aoc, what ever u wanna say. i no i am about to get flamed but its true guys. i really wanted a PVP based mmo. but this.........is far from what i was looking for. i am finished with the WOW copies[yes i said wow copies] i am going to wait untill something new is out........i had my hopes on darkfall but ehhhh....2008?? dont think so. i might give lotro another shot but who knows *prays darkfall will release 2008" AWEG RJN |

I honestly think that you will not be happy no matter what releases. No game will be as good as your memories of whatever you played in the past. You are doomed to be pessimistic and look down upon anything that releases. You won't like DF either. You'll say its a post CU SWG clone. I'm coming to find that I am getting too cynical myself. I think I may be starting to outgrow MMO's. I don't find WAR to be bad...but I find myself easily bored these days. Just like WoW bored me, and EQ2, VG, SB,DAOC (after a couple years), *enter acronym for any game released in the last 5 years here*. good luck with that.

war the pve is just dumbed down as far as it can possible get and the scenarios is fun for about 2-3 times and thats all it has so resubbing doesent even come to mind even if they release several expansions or server pop even gets High |

Take a step back. Download & join Atlantica online: free, fun, complex & innovative like no other mmo's this year. Check Darkfall and Mortal Online when it's out. Thats the shadowknight's prescription.

Comon..every mmo are those that you should never resub to. There is not not not not not an mmo that offers a refresh of the genre, something that hooks over a previous mmo (WoW, EvE, WAR, AoC, EQ2). Not one that is any better or substanially different than the original EQ was, and I completed the game when I got 75% to the cap....you do nothing but the same game-play options and key mashings over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
The progressive depth and breadth of game-play options in mmos hasnt been enough to keep me engaged for more than 3months. They appeal to the lowest common denominator of gamers, of which there are alot, and with simple repetitive motions/engagements with alot of sparkley things to keep you mesmerized beyond a few months.
We need some more improvements of a world without boundries, but of which boundries can be set by players with a little interference by devs. I'm watching some of the soon to launch mmos for my next jump. mmos and long term game-play is a farse, unless your a simpleton for whats out there today imho. |

I do agree with this. Atlantica Online is the only mmo that is unique enough to keep my American attention, and I hate anime and the asian game market. Atlantica is a solid choice, but one of the major flaws is that its not a true mmo but a hybrid rts/mmo, which is very interesting. You really need to beyond level 20 to give yourself an option to get involved....theres so much to do, it makes your head spin. |

There was talk that Mythic had been manipulating the server limits (just last month when WoTLK came out) and overnight turned a lot of their Low/Meds into Med/Highs, and Low/Low into Med/Med. Quite a few posts a month ago about this, but fans just said it showed the game was growing. That could possibly be one reason it was Med/High on your server last month. Let me ask you this: When you played last month, did it seem to you while you were on that it was a Med/High population server, just because you logged in and the list SAID it was Med/High? Or even though it said that, you still found it lacking with people? I'm just talking about what you saw with your eye and through chats as a player. You seem like someone who was playing enough to tell the difference from reading your past posts. If your answer was even though it said Med/High last month, it really wasn't and they could have been lowering limits to make the servers fuller to compete with WoTLK release. If not, then its worse. It means that all those people either quit their subs, stopped playing and refuse to log on or just was part of the collapse of servers. None of the last three options sounded good for the game's overall future. I do find it hard to believe that THAT many people on a MED/HIGH server would all decide to transfer when thats about as healthy as you can get. |

I don't really know what to tell you. First of all, if you are actually finished with "wow copies" why would you go to LOTRO which is very similar to WoW in gameplay? Not the same mind you but enough for people to scream wow copy. Secondly, WoW took what was and redefined and streamlined it. Though as people for some reason are unaware (as it seems that gamers really don't make it out of their basements So quite frankly I feel it was ok for WoW to look at games and say "hey, this doens't really work and causes issues, let's sreamline it". As far as something new, you are not really going to find it as there really is never anything entirely new. Just a different way of looking at the old and making it contemporary. Darkfall is certainly not new as it seems that it borrows from much earlier games. So that's out no? I think you need to just play single player games for a while as clearly you are burnt out on mmo's. |

Others copy WOW and fail at it. |

If you like pvp then lotr is not the answer for you. It is quest experaince driven some difference as far as monster play past 10 but you do not own the monster character you just play it for a while. Aslo as far as the books/chaperters are conserned many are group based. Find a busy server or you are going to have a hard time to progress Question have you gotten into console rpgs? Either 360 x box or other? I found some of the games on xbox 360 very fun. From fable 2 to blue dragon and overlord. I think perhaps we expect the newer generation of mmoprgs to be different from the past. However until the devlelpors do something different, i think many ole timer mmorpg players will not find a fit with the new releases. I also think we no longer put up with sloppy game play bad path finding and out and out erros that make it into release. With that said one of the things why i appreicate lotr when i am actively involved i do spend less on games as a whole. So what if we play for a while then do something else. Play while you are enjoying and walk away when you are not. |

We all want something different until we get it then everyone screams how it sucks. You want a strickly pvp game and are going to play LOTRO (which i play and love) problem for you is it has very little pvp. As for any game being a clone of another, its the way of the world. Man takes what has gone before and builds on it, be it games or anything else. For the WOW lovers who claim everything is a WOW clone, they should really play some old school and see just where bizzard got their ideas. |
