I got a few of those with the collectors edition, but getting the snow mammoth and war rino for free would be pretty neat. Hope I win something!

It's funny that they could not creating anything new and exiting and had to reuse old, previously "exclusive", items.

Well if you pre ordered you would of either have gotten the Mammoth or Rhino or Amazon Bow (from Amazon) you would be hard pressed to someone will all. Including the Totem (via PC gamer mag).

Snow Mammoths weren't pre order either so that is something different.

 I think it is a good idea, And why not give stuff away to lure potential customers back ? every one else does a simlar thing either it by giving items or a free weekend of playtime or some other type of gimmick if it pains you that much to enter a contest that will cost you nothing unless you win and decide to try it again then for gods sake get over it and move on, they are not telling you to resub they are offering gifts for IF or when you come back to enjoy.

You know what I think is amazing?  You "blind nay-sayers"  complain that the developers at Funcom "didn't make anything NEW ^.^" for this contest.

Yet, if they HAD made something NEW ^.^ then you nay-sayers would've just turned around and complained that they wasted time on making new gimmicky items, instead of "fixing all the problems, kekekeke."

do ur self a favour ... dont buy the game and if u got a subscription.. let it end hell i would even say go play WOW.. and yes i hate wow my self but still not as much as failcom.
coz i cant realy think of any other "develloper aka server host" that failed so horrable at lauch/release/game overall ... ever..

just stateing a fact... not telling u to stop ur sub just saying what the most logical thing is to do...

if u like the game sure play it, but dont get fooled by the stuff they say like dx10 will be comming coz it wont ..

wait a minute you mean they didnt really reliease the game with dx10 already functioning?

i thought that was one of the mager selling points to the game that it was top notch tech utilizing such shit tactulare stuff ontop of them being a security risk now.

i thought that was one of the mager selling points to the game that it was top notch tech utilizing such shit tactulare stuff ontop of them being a security risk now.

You know that nice DX10 shading they have in LotRO, that is probably something like 1/100 of the actual capabilities DX10 has. They set back the lauch of DX10 because they wanted to implement the full DX10 CUDA physics system that's going to truly kill anything any debate about the best graphics in the MMO genre. I like spectacular things, and I applaude FC for not launching Mickey Mouse DX10.

Sure, it will kill debates about the graphics if and when it is released, but what about the rest of the game?

Would you get excited if a piece of dog dook was painted like a Fabergé Egg?

Here's my beef:

May 17th, 2008, I receive my piece of paper from Gamestop where I pre-ordered AoC for Early Access and the War Mammoth.  On this piece of paper it says:

"IN-GAME EXCLUSIVE     THE WAR MAMMOTH"

Now correct me if i'm wrong but by releasing the "SNOW MAMMOTH" totally invalidates my Pre-Order.  What this tells me that I should have never pre-ordered AoC, Waited a year and then purchased the game and I would have gotten the same thing had I waited a year or longer. 

WAR MAMMOTH = SNOW MAMMOTH, just a different coat of paint on an old car in my opinion.

I shoulda just waited and bought War, but Hindsight is 20/20.  I will never buy another funcom product again.  This, and the numerous other press releases they have given in the past regarding AoC just further proves that Funcom is failing vicariously.

It's a shame really, AoC had such promise but in the end failed to deliver.
