Ahh, but see. Some would question your inclusion of the Mid-December portion into the equation... there was no such mention of any "mid"... there was only beginning and early. So, since there was only mention of beggining and early... you can only use as counter-points End and Late. So that means the only viable way to split it up is:
Early/Beggining of December = 1st to 15th Late/End of December = 16th to 31st That way they get an "extra" 5 days to work with. No fair trying to cheat them out 5 days of wiggle room. And yes... they know their word play. |

Technically it wouldn't be a lie if you split it like that to. Early being 1 to 15 would indeed be the beginning. While 16 to 31 would be Late which would indeed be the ending. i.e Beginning weeks/days of Decemember. Very interesting, I wonder if it's a greek thing. Because I know where I live. For the most part people consider early or beginning of a month to be the first week (1st to 7th). Even more curious to see where this goes now. |

If you are really curious. Go back a few pages in the forum history and look at the posts that were started and the people that posted in them back in late September (Beta officially stated Sept. 22nd) and then again leading up to the ADW presentation as well as shortly after (from which we got the quote in question).
Then compare those posts and the tone of those posting in them to now. THAT will give you a pretty good indication. |

There is plenty of time. Open beta is already running... in Greece. DFO will hit Greece markets on Xmas Eve, Santa Klaus Toy Factory as publisher.

Remember he used the word “scheduled” to end in early December, so he can get out of this one easily by just saying they are behind on this schedule without any further clarification. This is similar to when he said earlier this year that public beta would precede launch by a “few weeks“. But then later backtracked saying public beta would not be “two weeks” but they hoped it would only be “several weeks”, but it would be as long as needed. The thing that is much harder for Tasos and Aventurine to get out of is this official company commitment to launch within 2008 that is not a guestimate, they have mentioned this several times and on the 17 min video also. What’s makes it even harder to get out of is their previous statements saying they would not announce a date as only a goal or one that they would then miss, postpone, or be forced to release unfinished to meet. Not to mention they have also said they are “resolved” to stick with their release date and theirs no way they would miss their release date. A very sticky position to be in, of course only people who have actually read or remember what Aventurine have said exactly over the past year concerning beta and release will appreciate this. |

Sorry, I don't believe anything about this game; personally, I think it is vaporware. I want to believe this game is coming out, but with zero leaks and minimal information released, I have very little confidence in this game becoming a reality. Of course, they can prove me wrong and no one would be happier than myself.

"The announcement during ADW was that the open beta phase is scheduled to end early in December. More importantly this means that the game will be ready to release at that point. Marketing consideration kept us from just announcing a release date. The game will be ready for release, and the launch may follow directly, or shortly after, depending on the marketing landscape at the time. Obviously the earlier the better for us, but there are a lot of things needing coordination for the launch, internal and external. So our side of things (meaning the development end) will be ready."
I think Tasos has already really announced the delay of the games launch in October 31st update part 1. Apparently marketing considerations and their landscapes as well as a lot of external and internal things that need coordination might delay the launch of the game even though actual development will be finished and the game will be ready for release. So basically what I think Tasos is saying is we have done are part but the publisher and other partners might hold up the launch and be a cause for delay, but its not are fault because the game will be ready for release. Blaming their publisher or GNi or the state of the market or anything else beyond their control for the launch delay could buy Aventurine some more time, but I’m not sure how much. |

If OB has started and will end in a few weeks then where are the fraps of obt. There must be some out there. Don't tell me they have NDA for ob for gods sake's. Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries... |

Open beta? A stupid question maybe but what is so open of this beta? If I understood it correctly you are not even allowed to say that you are in this "open" beta. |
