To any other gamer Darkfall's closed beta is just like any other. ie - Ignore until free trial or release.

Here, people (both fanbois and trolls) actually bother to argue over whether or not the closed beta is fake.

To an average gamer, a game is either Released or Not Released with no inbetween. Darkfall is obviously in the "Not Released" catagory here, so it doesn't deserve the huge ammounts of time that the fanbois and troll-tards have devoted to it in debating every minor or inconcequential thing.

And yet they do.

Quite sad really.

The average gamer also buys AoC without waiting for reviews, and ends up getting what he/she paid for.  They also doesn't usually play this form of an MMO.  What I'm saying is that the uniqueness of this game makes it worth spending time on.  I see more potential in Darkfall's "closed-beta" than in any other MMO currently out there and I would love to be in it.

While Released, or Not Released is the criteria that I usually go by, Darkfall's an outlier for me.

And yes, I'm actually glad you enjoy beginning arguments, then refusing to back your claims.  It does make for some enjoyable times.  Care to change subjects again?

There are SO many erronious assumptions in that statement.

1 - Why would I - as an average gamer - have access to inside resources that can prove, or disprove, a closed beta?

2 - Why would I - as an average gamer - care? Every mmo game out there goes though a closed beta. My Care-o-meter doesn't even twitch until the game releases. As an average gamer, i just take the develoepr claims at face value and pretty much just ignore the game until it comes out.

3 - Why would I - as an average gamer - need to prove that Darkfall is having closed beta? If the developers claim that they are having one, then fine. I'll try to care about the development history of the game after it releases and I'm playing it.

The real question is ... why do you care enough to claim that the beta is fake?

2 - Are you saying this to offer reason as to why you offer no proof of your claims?  Is it that you feel since you're an "average gamer" you don't need to argue your statements, since they don't matter in the first place?  This entire argument began because you said the closed-beta was proof in itself that Aventurine doesn't need to prove anything.  Upon being asked for your reasons and proof, you produced nothing except revolving logic.

3 - If you really feel this way, why enter the discussion on a forum like this, especially if you're not prepared to offer information to back your claims.  You "did" start this argument, yet now you refuse to finish it.

And yeah, I'm sorry that you bought into the hype.  Last time it happened to me was when I purchased Gothic 3.  I was all excited because I'd be a part of the third installment of my favorite games at the time...Wow, was I raped for 40 dollars.

Never again will I jump on a bandwagon, even if I am part of the beta.  I will always wait for some educated reviews, several weeks after release.

Looks like people made requests for TenTonHammer to make similar enquires towards Aventurine recently but they were declined, so I doubt MMORPG will get a response either.

Interesting. They start the thread over there at Forumfall with an insult aimed at mmorpg.com and then spend 3 pages thinking up kooky reasons why Tasos refused TTH.

I'm fairly sure you're right that mmorpg.com will be denied access, even if they offer to go to Greece. The main thing I want to see now is the reason Tasos gives them for denying them.

I was going to say that the picture was somewhat suspicious, because of the poor typing.  But I wasn't really thinking it was entirely forged...Wow, just wow. 

I really don't understand why so many people are trying to spread lies about this company and game.  Isn't enough that they're doing semi-retarded things on their own?

But yeah, if that picture had been true, I would have lost all hope in Aventurine.  There's still a splinter remaining, and it's clinging to that potential beta.

Okay, I ran the address in the pic and it went to TTH and it gave me the standard "you can't access this on your account" deal. That's normally the page I get when a thread has been deleted. So looks like we're gonna have to get the moderator chick to say whether that post in the pic was real or not.

I'l try sending her a pm/e-mail with a link to the picture and see if she'll respond.

Edit: Okay, sent a pm to Shayalyn with links to both the pic in question as well as the link to this thread, basically just asking for a "yes" or "no" in regards to whether it was a real thread/post which was deleted, or a fake.

If i was Aventurine i wouldn't answer alone of the fact someone can't spell my company name right  in that email...and consider it trash

Well, to me the fact that it came up with an "you're not authorized", rather than "no such found" makes me think it was a deleted post rather than faked. But I am waiting for a response to my e-mail so that it can be definitively put to rest. Unfortunately, nothing yet. And with the Thanksgiving holiday, it may take awhile.
