So yeah, been trying for the past few hours to check out the site, and it appears to be down. This COULD mean that they're updating something, or they could be having...err...'troubles'.... Not trolling, just wanted to stir the pot a bit while crossing my fingers that it's the former rather than tha latter...

Either way, the failed to connect error is not a good sign. No self respecting company lets their homepage go to a failed connect no matter what the circumstances. I'm a DF fan but that is just bad web practice.

Yes, but updating a page never involves them going completely 404. There should be a "hey we're updating" page at the very least. Besides, who needs to rip down the whole page just to update it? To back up Kordesh's statement with my computer equivilant of a peon's knowledge... When I had my own website, it would update as soon as I uploaded a new page. So, having the 404 error points towards the server being down. I could be wrong in my prediction of things, but it does seem that way. To quote Firefox - Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at darkfallonline.com. Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection. It's not a 404. It looks more like the server is up but they're blocking the viewing of the site. -DarktideForever

It was down a while ago when I was checking, hours before any mention popped up on the forums. and it would have been around like 4am in greece... I can't imagine them rolling out of bed to do something with the site that early when they could just as easily wait.

I remember the day they released that really long video and opened the beta sign-up. The devs were working long into the night that day. It was something like 10pm UK time (11 or 12 Greek time?) when they finally updated the site. The irc was very interesting that day ^_^ Maybe they're getting in an early start? -DarktideForever

I hope that Brannoc's "soon" description, describing when the website will be back up, isn't the same as Aventurine's idea of "soon" for beta... that would take years...
