There probably won't be a time limit in NA. Korea is very different when it comes to video games. There are quite a few articles including the one I have linked below. Playing 10 hours a day doesn't quite sound so bad compared to this guy. _________________ |

approx ten hours a day per Month is too little time? Wow I don't want to know what your life is Like... Originally posted by GTwander: How are you an MMO? Or any of us for that matter? I say we strike all users from the site for not being MMOs. |

300 hours a month???? That is about 10 hours a day based on a 30 day calendar.....you honestly need to play more than 10 hours a day??? You probably have no job and serious health problems including obesity, carpal tunnel, and tunnel vision. |

When I played Lineage One it was very common for Korean players to share accounts, and have someone leveling them 24/7. This payment plan prevents someone from doing this. It levels the playing field a bit, its possible for a human (not healthy mind you) to play 10 hours a day and keep up with the Jones. US plan will probably not follow the same model. Although, not sure how selling stuff is going to work. In Lineage 2 you would leave your character up all night in "market mode" since there was no auction house. Hopefully AION won't have this sort of set-up.

Its not that you would want to play 10+ hours a day its the fact that you dont have the freedom to m starts of at 300 hours a month & then a few other MMO follow suit & then one says 250 hours & before you relize it you paying $15 a month for 50 hours or even an hourly fee..

To those screaming bloody murder about having a 300 hr limit-... tell that to the asian victims whose friend's addictions led them to play around +300 hrs/month. You know, the ones who have to grieve because a loved one became malnurished in an internet cafe, a block away from his apartment- where there was always plenty of food and rest to be had, and ended up dieing on his keyboard. Or tell that to the spouse who only wanted to spend a little time with their significant other, just an hour or so, and ended up getting knifed. All because the person behind the screen was too agitated trying to become uber in the game, and stabbed the spouse. I could go on about stories that happen every day in places like Korea, where this time limit is actually the law, because of these stories... On the flipside, gaming isn't as big a deal in the West, so you will likely still get the standard $14.99/mo rate. Not as many deaths from farmers hawking each other's territory, in the west... If you actually have a problem with it, well... then you might have a problem with that spaceship you thought you saw (but really didn't)... ----------------------- Played- SWG (pre-cu), AoC, VG, WoW, LoTRO,CoX, EQ2, DAOC, GW, PotBS, Aion, MO,APB, NASA, Fallen Earth, DCUO, Rift Playing- EVE, Black Prophecy, TOR Waiting for- Tera, Jumpgate Evo, WH40K, WWE, WOD, TSW |

Do we get Roll-over minutes? If we do, there better be an option to where I can use the new months minutes. Ill just throw the old months minutes away seeing how I could never use all of my minutes up. / AT&T sarcasim off I highly doubt this payment plan will be implemented here in NA or EU. Even if it was going to be here, I would embrace it. Some of you people just want to complain about something. If you dont like the game move on, no need to sit around hunting for something to bring to the board and cry about.
Waiting for: FFXIV V2.0, ArcheAge,GW II |

Omg, you all are a bunch of idiots, more so the Op for starting a stupid thread like this. FACT #1 Its Korean release ONLY ! FACT #2 Korean have laws restricting how much time you can play on-line. FACT #3 NC puts limits on play time because of Fact #2 FACT #4 OP and most of you are idiots.
I feel much better now. |

UO is roughly $14...Sure it says 12.99 a month, but you guys forget they have a tax charge. |

hahah it is so funny to see someone comment "NCshit"... nice one.. Who think like that must be one hell of a retards. First of all I like to point out the two company NCsoft and blizzard.. Yes blizzard make greate game. single player/muliplayers games... but really.. they are still new to the MMO.. trully do you really think WOW a MMO... althouhg yes.. though of player may connect into the server and run around and hunt do quest and enter in instance and that.. If you really think about it. WOW is really just a B.net. let you login.. and then you decide what you want to do... say you want to go to an instance with your friend.. pretty much in B.net you go create a game. and your friend connect into it.. and then you enjoy what the game got to ofter... although outside of an instance as they call it teh WOW World let's you venturing around performing tasks.. maybe abit of PVP do a few quest and lvl your character up similar to an MMO... but if you have play the game.. you will find out that what?? in your hunting area.. you will be lucky to see more then 30 people in an area.... hmmm MMO lol.. my f...ing ars!!! where the rest of the milllion of players?? hahah they are in instance.. battle arenas.... I tell you what good about WOW..
NCsoft Lineage/Lineage II
that pretty much the different between them. but both game offer the billity to login hang out with friend/buddie.. go venturing the world, gathering loots.. lvling up.. maybe make some new friend.. create a guild.. building up your empire.. oh wait.. wow doesn;t have that.... Both game company are greate... but NCsoft are able to release true MMO.. and Blizzard are able to release greate single/multiplayer games... maybe the next title from Blizzard.. they might be able to release a True MMO one day hopefully...and maybe if NCsoft has better story write and landscape artist.. then the world market might be able to see what they can offer... |

No he's correct imo, it will be the start of the slippery slope if they do this in the US, I don't think they will though. I wouldn't play more than 300 hrs in a month but I would never buy any game that had this system, not that Aion is my kind of game anyway. It's changing the service from unlimited to limited and who knows where it will end up. In all fairness they should only charge 40% of the normal unlimited rate i.e $5.99 if they do this in the US because that's what your getting for your money whether you would use it or not. It's the same as internet, I would never us any provider that had download limits even though I rarely come anywhere near the limits companies other the one I use would impose.

Originally posted by Archillez 300 hrs/month is ALOT of time. As well as many people said this is the Korean pricing system so no idea how the NA/EU pricing system would look like. Even if the NA/EU pricing is the same, wouldn't that be for prepaid game cards? Which means that regular monthly subscriptions would be different right?

i very much doubt aions pricing will be any different from the other major mmos out there . it would be comericial suicide to charge more than warcraft or lord of the rings . i dont think they d be that stupid . |

Seriously i do Laugh at ppl at time's, onviously some ppl have a reading Disablilty. These time limits are there for a Reason, Because of the the Law in Korea which limits game time played, which i am assuming is for Health reasons. The Pay System we will have at NA/EU will be no Different than the Rest of the Sub based game's we already have here. Don't get ya nickers in a Twist guys/gals do some reading (and by this i mean actually reading) and you will soon see why these time periods are in place, and Seriuosly tho tell me how many ppl you know that spend that much time in game, well i know i probably will but hey i am not working due to the Fact i have granted myself an Extended Holiday from Work not for gaming but just because i have other things i want to do in life other than slave my ass of for mere penny's. For all those out there saying this game sucks for this or the Company Sucks for doing this and your not gonna play now, good Grief, grow up and stop being such selfish litte Brats and learn to do some Research before posting such utter Garbage. |

Obviously if the OP was paying $14.99 a month he wouldn't be complaining. MMO's charge different rates based on their location and its economic superstructure. For example the same game 2.5 million US players paid $50 for and $15 month, Chinas 6 million subs got for free and pay 6 cents an hour for. I mean why elso would wow be posting its firsy billion dollar year? 300 hours? Thats too little!!!! OMG
Seriously guys, 300 hours per month is a HUGE amount. Hell I doubt Id even rack up 100+ hours in a month. The only time I could see it as a negative if Aion has a shop system like Lineage 2 where people set up afk shops. ~Greatness~ MMORPG Blog |
