At this very moment I am attempting to install and run Eve  on my 1.6ghz atom powered 2gb ram netbook, I'll let you know how it goes.

Btw, incase you didn't know, they have a good graphics and old graphics version of Eve avaiable for if you have an old system.

Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike
Loved: Star Wars Galaxies
Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

Depends. The new graphic engine won't run on a laptop without a good graphics card.  But  I have a pretty high powered gaming laptop, and I run the old graphics anyway, to minimize lag during fleet battles and also because I run 3 game clients at one time when I play.

So most likely it will run on your new laptop, but don't be surprised at some lag in major fights.

When I am "on the run" I sometimes run EVE on my laptop: 1.7GHz dual core. 1GB RAM. No graphics card (integrated onboard nonsense). And EVE *mostly* ran fine for over 6 months - but the last 2 patches has a lot of crashes for me these days.

Be aware that most laptops do NOT come with a graphics card - so please shop around.

LOTRo (Lifetime) + CO (Lifetime) + GW + DDO(EU) = All fun! All free! All the time! :)

I ran two clients on my laptop (single core, 2 Gb RAM, 6 series nvidia card) on the premium graphics with no problems. I usally quit down to one when in combat. No problems. Eve is (or at least was) a very stable and compact program for what you get.

I run all my mmos on my Asus a7k laptop.  It overheats on games like war and aoc but, I took the covers off the bottom and i have a fan made by antec cooling it so it doesn't overheat anymore.  Runs every mmo I play great.  Costs like 1000, with the 2gb ram and hd2600 graphics( which is the one I have).  You can get the new a7k for like 1100 with 3 gb ram and hd3600 which will run better then mine.

Message me if u want me to link you either models because I shopped around and buddy, trust me this is the best bang for the buck.

I dont play on a laptop, but just felt compelled to say I play 4 premium accounts on 1 computer. Ok, I'm done boasting now, good luck with your new laptop!

I've been playing on an Asus 1000H EEE PC for about a month now.  Works pretty good, actually.

You can read about my experiences here.

My specs are..

1.2 GHz duel core, 2 gb ram, and some random video-card, I don't remember (See if you can find the IBM; Thinkpad; Lenovo R61)

With premium graphics, it's runs smoothly. Even with two clients running(!).

Although, heavy PvP (50+ on each side) I usually turn down the graphics before going into combat, because lag could cost me my ship. :P
